Nancy and George were perfect hosts for our stay in the Bayside area. We were there for three nights in September, 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our "Forequarter" room was bright, clean, comfortable and offered a great view of the bay across the road. Room furnishings were functional and decorated in a maritime theme. The morning sunrises were spectacular! George provided detailed guidance for our daily excursions into Halifax and down the coast. And our breakfast conversations with George and Nancy gave us a much better understanding of the local history as well as present day life in maritime Canada. George has some "work-in-progress" projects with around the property, but nothing that dampened the enjoyment of our stay. The Anchors Gate is a perfect base for touring Halifax (30 minutes away) and Peggy's Cove (15 minutes away). Further exploring down the coast toward Lunenburg is an easy drive as well.
