Rolling in on our motorcycles, in need of some great java, we found this place. Delicious espresso, friendly owner. Sat outside where the local men had gathered. They were interested in our trip, gave us great advice on roads. A real community feel.

When there is even a hint of warm and sunny weather there is not better place to spend a nice afternoon in Wrightwood than at the Village Grind. I often walk my dog to town and stop in for some superb wine tasting and a nice lunch. The patios are "dog-friendly" and the proprietor (Linda or Greg) will even bring a water dish out for your four-legged companion. If you are lucky (and on the rare occassion, "unlucky") there may be live music on the patio, too. The artists performing range from excellent to "don't-quit-your-day-job;" but part of the fun is checking out the acts and making your own judgement.

The food is top-notch for a coffee/wine bar establishments. It is not gormet dineing for sure, but a wide selection of sandwiches, wraps, and often a daily special. The apatizers, however, are the best in town: cheese platters, pesto pizzas, quesadillas, etc; they compiment, espeically, the wine.

As for the wine tasting, Greg only picks the best for tasting and serving. I am not a wine drinker, per se (prefering beer over wine..and they do have a limited selection of beers, too), but Greg has made me appreciate wine becasue of his expertice and determination only to serve the best.

When in Wrightwood, check out the Village Grind!

A great place for a bite to eat and to listen to local artist play music. Wine, beer or coffee - you can't go wrong here. Limited menu but always good. The owners are busy but when their not, they love to chat with you. A local also sells her mini cheesecakes here, yummy!

The Village Grind is by far my favorite place to hang out and eat in Wrightwood. My friends and I go there often, whether it's for a quick iced-coffee or a sit down meal (their weekend tri-tip is great!).

Greg and Linda are very personable and fun to talk with. Max is a fun barrista, too!

AND, they serve wine! Nothing better than enjoying a glass of wine on the deck while the sun is setting...

The owner was friendly and welcoming. Sat and listened to some late afternoon music by one of the local artists who was talented but not so loud that you could not talk to the people in your party. Yummy coffee.
