What a pleasant surprise -- sometimes when visiting remote cafe's / roadhouse ..... you really take a chance............ however, this one was a big winner!
12 of us on motorcycles rode from the Pasadena area --- 78 miles on ACH to the Mountain Top Cafe. We previously called the day before for reservations --- and as usual ... late to arrive. Regardless, they recognized us when we walked in the door, had a table set with a reservation notice, and were particularly friendly.
The facility was clean, neat, well decorated (casual roadhouse style), restrooms clean with hand sanitizers, and a particularly nice server who answered our "routine menu questions" in a very honest and friendly manner ---- even offered us individual checks (thank you).
Really surprised at the excellent quality of food, selection, and presentation and courtesy! Okay, by now, if you read any of my previous (18) reviews, you'll know that for casual lunch venues while on a long bike ride, of paramount importance (and in this order) is friendly service, cleanliness, atmosphere, menu, presentation of food, and quality.
Typically, I go with a burger and fries (1 burger a week is okay - LOL) or the club sandwich.... tried the burger here ---- and was very good (on sourdough bread, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and onions). Other entrees looked equally as good!
In summary, I highly recommend the Mountain Top Cafe for a very good quality lunch while on the road.....and if in the area again --- we will definitely eat here!!!!!!!!!!!!
