Description: Chef Michael Chiarello has returned to his culinary roots by creating seasonal farm-to-table Italian cuisine reflecting the bold flavors of Chiarello’s heritage in his signature style 1st made famous at Tra Vigne in the 90’s. An award winning chef/vintner & Food Network host, Chiarello celebrates his Italian roots and the Napa Valley with a menu echoing his long practice of using the finest locally/sustainably produced food. Located in Yountville, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Bottega’s extensive wine list represents hard-to-find favorites of the Valley and interesting Italian selections. Chiarello restored the integrity of an old 1800’s estate by uncovering beautiful hard wood floors, timber beams, old brick walls and windows. The inviting dining room is accented with reclaimed antiques, warm fabrics and eclectic light fixtures lending to the restaurant’s old world comfort.

“Listen to the hype”

This was another great meal in Napa - don't miss this place! Arrive a few minutes early so you can walk around the beautifully manicured grounds. We sat outside under the heat lamps and it was so comfortable. Our waiter started out a little strange and I'm not sure he was really listening to us, but as the meal progressed he became more engaged.

My meal was outstanding! I had the shaved brussel sprouts salad - which came as huge pile of thinly sliced brussel sprouts with a lemony dressing and chopped almonds for crunch. It was so good - I am going to try and re-create it at home! My meal was a half chicken, which sounds boring but it was like a brick chicken, seared flat on an iron pan so the skin was nice and crispy and it was cooked with different kinds of peppers so it was a bit spicy - I loved it! My husband got pasta Bolognese since that is his favorite and he thought it was the best he's had!

One low point was my sister's meal - the tuna two ways was the skimpiest portion of raw tuna I have ever seen. We had to laugh because it was literally two bites! She then got lamb chops which were equally as small - I mean, lamp chops are small but these had NO meat on them! Don't order either of those and you will be fine!

“Mixed review - amazing food and disappointing service”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Our experience at Bottega was completely mixed. The best part was the food - it was truly amazing and delicious. There are great options and everything seemed to be prepared perfectly. No doubt, their food is their strength.

The service left quite a bit to be desired. It was interesting that the head chef (we believe) was eating two tables down from us and was getting immaculate service (as was the table in between us and the chef that was engaged in conversation with them). However, we struggled to find anyone to fill up our water glasses. The entire night was mediocre at best service which was completely disappointing. I'm sure there are others that have had a very different experience but ours seemed to be impacted by all the attention going to the chef two tables down from us. It unfortunately, impacted our experience and rating of the restaurant.

“A Must Try On A Napa Visit”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

I've always thought a lot of the restaurant and patrons in Napa are a bit too casual; too many flip flop and shorts sightings. This is not the case in Yountville and especially at Bottega where big boy/big girl attire is welcomed. You can have a wonderful evening out with your special person at Bottega. We found the place quite romantic; the outdoor seating is special on a warm night. And the heaters make a cool night outdoors manageable for the hearty of us. In early July we had a great experience at Bottega.

I can't speak about the wine list, but it is Napa Valley so I'm sure the wine can't be a disappointment. The Italian Gin & Tonic was very refreshing and clean so if spirits spark your fancy, try one. We had asparagus carbonara, calamari fritti, the branzino and the iberico pork dish and everything was delicious. We found the wait-staff very professional, knowledgeable and helpful.

A great evening!

“Amazing restaurant”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

If you go to Bottega, plan to spend some time there. Sample the wines paired with the appetizers, the soup, the pastas, the entrees and the desserts. All are amazing. Take the time to relax and enjoy the experience.
