“Great stay...worth every penny!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2012

My husband and I went for a 4 night getaway in January. When we arrived, Katie at the front desk welcomed us and offered a glass of wine. Due it was a last minute decision to go to Napa Valley, we did not make any dinner reservations. The concierge was on her lunch break at that moment, so Katie was kind enough to make us all the reservations. Yountville is a very small town. Great restaurants are all just 2 min walking distance from the hotel.
Parking: The parking is free, but you are not allowed to self park. Only valet parking. The valet boys were very courteous and provided an efficient service. I think it helps that they have radio earpiece. Upon our checkout, the valet offered us bottled waters for our way back.
Lexus cars: The hotel has 3 Lexus vehicles which you can borrow for 3 hours for free.
Room: Our room was on the 2nd floor and our window was looking the town. Very modern. The floor has no carpet, which I loved about it. It feels very clean and spacious. When you go in, the TV is on with a scenic video, like a screen saver. We turned on the gas fireplace and it felt like we were in a spa. When you turn on the TV, it shows the temperature, your name on and other information. It has a little fridge with complimentary water bottles that are re-stocked every day. The bottles are those like the milk glass bottles with a lid.
Washroom & closet: It is separated from the room by a sliding door. Very clean and loved the separate vanities. The washroom/walking closet is very spacious due the spa does an in room service with no extra charge.
In Room Spa service: We had a in room massage service. Housekeeping comes and sets the massage beds and puts some candles. The spa staff comes in few minutes after and finishes setting up the spa ambiance: dimmers the lights and putting some music. You can do side by side treatment or separate (one in the room and the other in the walking closet/washroom). At the end of the service, the massage therapist sneaks out of the room, sets on: "do not disturb" sign so we can stay lying there until we are ready to get up. Amazing!!
Bed Turndown service: house keeping turns on the TV on the nature scene video, dims the lights, leaves the slippers beside the bed and water bottle with a slice of citrus in it. Great service!
This hotel is what a 5 star is all about!
Thank you Bardessono for making this trip a very, very special one!

My wife and I came here for a three night getaway. The hotel and staff were first class. We had incredible massages and the staff there was the friendliest I have seen. They had just finished renovating the restaurant. The concierge helped plan every meal and winery. I highly recommend the hotel and town. It is central to everything.

We first saw the hotel just a few months after it opened 3 years ago, and have been trying to come up with an excuse to stay there. My birthday was the excuse.
We just got back from being there and can't wait to return.
Yes, it's pricey, but you really do get a special experience. It's done with great attention to detail - all the way to the room lighting controls. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooftop lap pool and hot tob .are designed and integrated into the setting with great taste. Someone spent a great deal of time designing it, and it shows.

We had reservation for 2 nights but stayed a 3rd it was so picture perfect! The staff was warm and welcoming from arrival, red and white quality wines served at check in.., to departure, two bottles of water in our car with seat heaters on..a true 5 star resort. They treated us and our dog with the utmost care and respect. We loved the steam shower shower it worked like a dream..we turned it on and a few mins later it was ready for use..nothing is truly automatic it takes a while for the water to be heated to steam but it really wasn't very long at all.

We loved this property, much better than any other 5 star chain..stay here, it's well worth the money. We didn't use the spa, but it looked very inviting..we will make appts for our next visit. Food was exceptional.

Room Tip: If you think you'll be spending any quality time in the room go for the steam spa king room..it...

This was our (traveling with my wife) 3rd stay in 4 years at Bardessono...Another great stay. You really can not beat the location as yountville is a great town to walk. We had a room with a steam shower, a novel idea, but not totally functional as it can take a while to warm up.

The service is top notch. I would call in the am to have the car pulled around before we left our room and it would be waiting there. The front desk offer you a glass of wine/water while you do their brief check in process, and you can have them email you your bill vs print it out.

We were lucky enough to goto Ad Hoc on a monday when it was chicken night. So good, we have also been to Ad Hoc for brunch, which was great. We had dinner another night at Redd, it was ok, not very napa though, more San Fran/city hip if that is your thing. Dont think you would run into too many locals there. Bouchon bakery in the morning is a must. And coffee from the coffee caboose.

Already looking forward to our trip to Napa in 2012.

My 2nd trip to Bardessono was as enjoyable as the first - an exceptionally high level of service, great rooms, great spa. The staff are amazing, know you by name and sight, always helpful in any request, including conjuring up items not on the room service menu when asked to do so. The spa is also great. Within a 3 minute walk of the hotel are some fantastic restaurants to allow you to venture out if you feel the need.

Overall an exceptional hotel, and very much worth the price - great value for a very luxurious stay.

My partner and I had been planning for over a year to visit the world-reknown French Laundry restaurant. After numerous failed attempts on http://Opentable.com and conventional phone reservations, we knew that we'd have better luck with a nearby hotel concierge booking it for us... and voilà! It worked! Bardessono was able to score us reservations in less than a month a half... granted we knew we'd have to book a room with them first.

Onto the actual hotel review:

We visited Bardessono back in June 2011 when we ventured into Yountville, while on a weekend trip in Sonoma. We walked around the grounds, wandered into the lobby and knew we had to stay there one day. We admired the uber-modern architecture, heated pool and its how it maintained a small environmental footprint (LEED Platinum certified). Most importantly, we loved how it was practically in the middle of all Thomas Keller's restaurants (French Laundry, Ad Hoc and Bouchon!).

Fast forward to 6 months later (mid-Dec) and we check-in for an overnight stay at their King Spa-Suite. Having brought our two french bulldogs, we called earlier to notify that because the hotel concierge had booked lunch reservations at The French Laundry at 11am that same day and that hotel check-in wasn't until 4pm, we had to make arrangements with the dogs. Front desk happily obliged and had made preparations to have the room ready for the dogs to check-in early. They even offered to walk the dogs while we were out. We only have 30 min to drop off the dogs, get situated in the rooms and change into formal attire for lunch. Walking into our room, I was very impressed with the modern facilities. There was a steam shower, a jacuzzi that fit two people side-by-side, outdoor patio with seating, separate room with a queen sized bed, and so much more! Knowing that we'd bring our dogs, the hotel laid out two dog bowls and plush dog beds. The $125 dog cleaning fee was a little steep but for the quality of the service, it was justifiable. Valet parking (Free!) was mandatory and relatively efficient.

After coming back from a 4 hour lunch, we came back to the hotel with two well-behaved (and sleeping dogs). The front desk took them out for a nice stroll so that was a huge bonus. We spent the night relaxing in front of the fireplace. At night, we realized we forgot the boys dog food, so we made a run to the local pet food store. The hotel had a promotion with Lexus that provided a free car rental service to use a 2012 Lexus RX450h. We took that to downtown Napa (15 min. away) and didn't have to pay for gas upon return. Around 10pm, we ordered room service. It had a decent selection (hamburgers, sandwiches, desserts, alcohol, etc.) at typical prices ($16 for hamburger, etc). Delivery was also quick (i.e., took about 20 min max for food to arrive).

Overall, we found Bardessono to be a world-class hotel. They were incredibly accommodating! Free internet was a plus! We've stayed at Ritz Carltons, Intercontinental Hotels and The Waldorf=Astoria and we were highly dissapointed that, even while charging $500+/night, wireless internet would still cost $15! Car service with Lexus was also a plus.

In the end, we would definitely recommend the hotel for those are willing to pay for top-notch service or for those who want to experience the best in Yountville (who can hook up French Laundry reservations!!). The bill came out to be about $750 for one night. That includes the dog overnight service, 14% tax and $70 of room service.

Anytime that we stay in Napa, we'll definitely make Bardessono our #1 choice!
