The service and hospitality was truly amazing! The entire staff treated us as a special house guest, not just paying customers. I mean entire staff; valet, housecleaning, bike rack assistant, front desk, room service, concierge, etc. The free water bottle system they have is "green" but also very unique and cool, and after drinking wine for most of the day very necessary. My wife and I truly had an amazing time and this was the best hotel experience we've ever had! The ultimate test..would we stay their again? Yes absolutely!!

Jim, the General Manager of this property, was not one to give up on proving he's got a place that can really offer Great Stay! My husband and I stayed here last May 2011, and have made some comments about the place which we felt needed changing right here on Trip Advisor. At that time, we opined that it is such a great place just needing a bit of tweaking. We came back last May 2012, and ended up not at all disappointed!

Even met their very down to earth leader who can give Customer Service and Hospitality its purest meaning!

Room Tip: If you can, get the Spa Suite or the Steam Spa Suite-----really well worth it!

The place was great for our family vacation. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating to us. It was easy to checkout bicycles and view the neighboring areas in the early morning. Excellent proximity to small shops and the various food establishments. If your are looking for a luxury hotel in Napa Valley, this is the spot to check out.

Our experience at the Bardessono could not have been better. The entire staff from Valet to Manager and everything in between was warm and welcoming from first contact to last. The rooms are smartlly dressed, spacious, comfortable and full of amenities. Who doesn't love checking in to a guest suite with a beautiful bottle of wine and a lovely cheese assortment waiting for them? The décor is elegantly earthy with a peaceful vibe. The location is perfect not only for walking to local restaurants and shops, but centrally located in the valley if your plans are to venture out to the vineyards. We just returned and it seems unimaginable to duplicate our amazing trip but we have already scheduled another trip to try, next month.

Room Tip: Each wing is as exquisite as the next. It is a win win.

The staff was very attentive and the property exceeded our expectations. It is super convenient for walking to shops and restaurants in Yountville. The complementary bikes were a nice bonus as we were able to take them out and bike around the country side at our leisure. We had one small mechanical issue with the shade and it was fixed within 15 minutes of our notifying the front desk. The room was wonderful as was the spa. The pool was great and never super busy when we were there. Chairs with towels placed on them were always available. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and were treated to special treats and upgrades because of this. We felt pampered while staying at the Bardessono. I would highly recommend this property

Room Tip: There really are no views from this property, so I would recommend a lower level room as you have to...

The Bardessono is a brand-new, mid-sized luxury hotel in the center of Yountville. We selected the hotel because of its luxury reputation, and also because of its location at the center of Yountville within walking distance of many many fine restaurants, including several Michelin starred restaurants. It is definitely an expensive hotel, but for those special occasions, I find it completely worth the splurge ... especially when compared to other deluxe and luxury hotels in Napa that are also pricey in their own right. All things said, we had a fantastic time at the Bardessono, and would not hesitate to come back again.

The hotel is a compact property essentially right off of the main street through Yountville. The property consists of a central building that houses the lobby and the restaurant, and several buildings around the perimeter that houses all of the guest rooms. The design aesthetic of the hotel is definitely modern luxury, with glass, stone, and right angles being the central design themes. Fortunately, it does not come across as being harsh or cold because of the effective use of landscaping and water features. The design theme carry across to all the public spaces and the rooms. The hotel may be a little jarring if you are expecting more of a stereotyped "country"or "villa" type design, but we thought the Bardessono design was very well executed. The hotel also has a small lap pool and a jacuzzi on the second floor of the lobby building. A very peaceful place to hang out in the sun.

We were upgraded into what I think was the ADA/Accessible version of the "Tufa" suite. The room was huge and very nicely appointed with all sorts of modern conveniences. There were four primary sections to the room: the sleeping quarters, a living/dining area with a dining table for four, the bathroom, and a large private patio. The overall impression of the room is bright and earthy-modern, but a little cold. There were not a lot of soft surfaces ... the room is predominantly stone or hardwood floors, has exterior blinds instead of curtains, high ceilings, big, floor to ceiling windows ... all which created a bit of an echo effect. But the benefit of this is that everything seemed incredibly clean, probably because everything is easy to clean. No yucky carpets or curtains at this hotel! The bathroom is also huge ... seems almost as big as a standard hotel room. The size is presumably to accommodate the in-suite massage table that can be pulled out of the wall. However, the proportion of floor space to usable space was not great ... even though the bathroom / wardrobe area is huge, I found it lacking on useful closet and shelf space.

A few other highlights about the room.
- The private outdoor space is great. It's a nice place to hang out, drink coffee and just generally relax.
- There was a giant outdoor soaking bathtub for two in the patio in our room. This might be a feature of the ADA room because there was only a shower in the bathroom. It took a little bit of courage to use the outdoor bathtub when you could hear other voices outside, but the hotel did a nice job of providing privacy through the high fences and the landscaping ... or so we hope!!
- The toilet/water closet room is separated by a translucent glass door & wall. This is one design fad that I just don't like, but am seeing a lot at this class of hotels. I would prefer a regular wall and door to the toilet, even if it creates a darker room.
- The hotel constantly restocks the (complimentary) sanitized glass water bottles next to the bed and also in the mini-fridge. It's a nice touch.
- Even though the hotel is in the middle of the town, we did not have any issues with traffic or noise in the room.

The service at this hotel is top-notch. It's friendly and precise at the same time ... they clearly hire great people and train them well. From the valet staff to room service, everyone carries themselves with aplomb, while not being at all stuffy. What's also nice is that there's no nickel-and-diming here. The restaurant and room service I feel are fairly priced, and free use of the pool cabanas, free takeout coffee in the morning, carbon-fibre bicycles, and the Lexus automobiles are all quite nice perks. You are paying a substantial amount to stay here, so I like the emphasis on pleasing the customer versus trying to earn an extra dollar here and there. No annoying "resort fees" either!

The Bardessono makes a big deal about its eco-friendly practices in its marketing. The good news is that the 'green' theme is very subdued in practice. They do a great job in conserving in ways that do not distract from the luxury objectives of the hotel. A few examples ... refillable soaps and shampoo pumps instead of one-time use plastic bottles, sealed glass bottles for water instead of plastic bottles (kind of like old-fashioned milk bottles), LED lamps everywhere, lights that turn off automatically when you are not in the room. But the rooms still have tons of nice linens and towels that they'll change with every housekeeping service, the shower and bath have great water pressure ... all things that you would expect from this class of hotel. If all hotels could incorporate eco-friendly practices in this kind of unobtrusive (versus militant or berating) way, the world would indeed be a better place ... the Bardessono proves you can have your cake and eat it too!

In summary, the Bardessono is a wonderful luxury option in the Napa Valley if you are fortunate enough to afford the rates. It's stylish, has great rooms and amenities, is close to great restaurants, and is focused on giving the customer a great, carefree experience. From start to finish, the Bardessono delivered on my expectations on what a hotel at this price and class should be.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the lobby or the restaurant. You will hear less voices from the outside...

From check in to check out our stay was great. The location in Yountville was the best for visiting local area wineries and enjoying all the great restaurants. The eco friendliness was a nice touch and the rooms are top notch.
