“Relaxing Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

I booked Hotel Yountville for a three night stay and I wanted to be in Yountville since I had dinner reservations for a couple of evenings in Yountville. It was better that there was also a deal for 3 or more night stay. Several of the other hotels in Yountville was one night short except for Bardessono which I was not ready to pay the price for. I rated it 4 out of 5 for a few reasons. Plus: Free Wifi. Slower at times but worked well enough for me to stream some netflix shows. The best things were the rooms are very spacious and each come with what seems like a porch or a balcony. It was too cold and rainy to use the balcony but I could see it being great during warmer weather. The design was lovely with exposed beams and a sitting area. The high canopy like bed was very comfy and I enjoyed having pillows and extra blankets. I liked the fireplace and definitely used that a lot. The spa bath was nice also in that the bathtub had jets and there is a separate area for the toilet. Plenty of fresh clean fluffy towels for use that I felt comfortable not getting the room cleaned daily. Umbrellas and slippers are in the closet as needed. We also received a complimentary Domaine Chandon cookbook which was nice. Our porch faced the back (ie. the small stream) so I felt it was very private. Since we strictly wanted to relax during this trip, we actually spent a lot of time in the room rather than drive from winery to winery. Another plus: complimentary car service to areas within Napa. We used the car service for our dinner at Meadowood which we were quite thankful for. It beat navigating the curves on our own and allowed us to freely drink wine, etc. Too cold to try the pool but it was heated...but it was near freezing in Napa during this time and not worth the pain. And we did have breakfast at their Hopper Creek Kitchen. Their sundried tomato ketchup (homemade) was lovely! As was the rest of the breakfast. Other benefits: they partnered up with several wineries for deals and such so that's a nice touch. We went to one winery and we had no trouble getting in (even though we went without a reservation and used our hotel card just in case there was a deal) but another couple at the same time tried to use their benefits from their hotel and they were told it was only valid before noon. So it was nice to know there are different degrees of perks you get by staying a certain places.
The Slight Dislikes: Their walls may be pretty thin but I also think a part of that is having an obnoxious person staying next door screaming their room number at midnight and who's deaf and likes to turn their TV up to max at 3am. We turned on the noise feature on their ihome (the ones that play water and nature noises) and that drowned out most of it. As I was contemplating calling the front desk to tell them to quiet down I fell asleep so it was tolerable with the noise machine. But still, guests as such are very annoying. We had a couple of tiny bugs crawl in from the porch but that can be expected especially given the very cold weather and proximity to the stream. The most frustrating thing was trying to figure out the correct air + fireplace combination. Every night we tried to set up the perfect temp but always woke up too hot or too cold. With that said, the hotel provides ample ways to keep the room warmer or cooler but it was still annoying. And sadly the bathroom, was always much cooler. That was not fun in the middle of the night.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and I would definitely choose Hotel Yountville again in the future. Especially for location.

Dear Leiyeewing,

So glad you were able to stay with us on our stay 3 night promotion. It is a great promotion during the winter months. Also was delighted to learn you were able to take advantage of some of the perks offered by our winery partners. It is true that different partners do offer different benefits. However with over 30 partners there is something for everyone.

We do appreciate all your positive feedback on the hotel as well as the areas of improvement. We will review everything with our staff to ensure we meet the all the needs of all of our guests.

When next visiting the Napa Valley we look forward to having you back as a guest.

Best regards,

After staying at Hotel Drisco we were hoping not to be disappointed in Yountville. Wow, were we surprised to walk into the top level room at Hotel Yountville. It was incredible with great furnishings, very clean, spa bathroom, fireplace and two 'balconies'. The open high ceilings and exposed beams added character and charm to the very spacious yet cozy room. It was like having a private condo in wine country with parking at the door and easy access to all Napa valley and Yountville have to offer. The pool and whirlpool looked fantastic and there were outdoor fireplaces with seating around the grounds to enjoy the wine purchased at the hundreds of wineries nearby. We liked the privacy of a detached building and not always having to walk by the lobby and front desk, but when we asked for help the staff was great at making recommendations on wineries and restaurants as well as making the reservation. Everything in the town was easily walkable and a great breakfast can be had at Bardessono (Lucy) just down the street. Highly recommend, wish we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: Top level rooms are amazing. Views aren't going to be terrific (ravine in our case) but nice an...

I stayed here over American Thanksgiving with my best friend. We were both celebrating our 40th birthdays, and when we arrived in our room, they had a lovely bottle of Champagne and chocolates ready for us. Our only regret about this hotel is that we spent more time there enjoying it! It was lovely - our room was gorgeous, the ambiance was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the hotel for two nights starting November 30th- room 101. The location is great - walking distance to all the restaurants in Yountville. The rooms are nicely decorated with a nice sitting area. However, our sitting area was right in front of the air conditioner, so it was quite chilly to sit there when the unit was on. The bathrooms are quite large, and this room had a nice bathtub. We did have an outside sitting area, but we had to deal with the guy smoking next to us for one of the days which was not pleasant. The hotel pool is beautiful, and there is a nice hot tub. However, we were awoken at 8:30 on Sunday morning secondary to a leaf blower. Also, both evenings, a worker was pounding and sawing in the tool shed next to our room.

Overall, the hotel is nice as well as the location, but I do not think it is worth the price.

Location of the hotel is great. Room furnishings & pool are lovely. What for the price, it lacks a level of customer service & added value that one would expect.

Doorman/concierge at door to greet guests would be expected at this price point. Since bartender is only staff member present in lobby area, it might be nice for him to acknowledge guests.

Full free breakfast that Bellagio offers would be a welcome addition here. They also offer a really great wine tasting experience.

We were a bit surprised our deck overlooked a trailer park. Not a deal breaker, just not what I expected when spending $700+ a night.

My husband and I went for Memorial Day Weekend to Napa Valley and had a fantastic time. We enjoyed amazing food, some of the best wine we've ever had and all set in a beautiful setting. The Hotel Yountville was a great experience. The hotel is in an ideal location- the best central area to explore all of Napa Valley. Rooms were clean, comfortable, modern and very romantic. Steam shower and tub were very relaxing. We loved that they offered bikes to ride around town, which we took full advantage of! Some little things that they could do to improve the overall experience is to explain their discounted rates at local wineries, their in lobby wine tasting and their facilities in general- so that guests can take full advantage. At check in we were given our keys and a postcard containing all discounts in the area but that was about it. Not necessarily a bad thing but for the amount they charge just anticipated better customer service from the front desk. Overall though great stay and perfect location, would stay again especially to go back to Cakebread, Gotts, and Bistro Jeanty. Also make sure to spot by Hope & Grace wines in town for a laid back experience with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The staff at Hope & Grace gave us great recommendation on how to maximize our time and fun in Napa Valley.

This is the best hotel in Napa, it has a great location, really close to most of the best wineries of the region (Caymus vineyards, Opus One, Joseph Phelps, Robert Mondavi). Located in Yountville, a really cozy and beautiful town, I which you can find three of the best restaurants of the area (the French laundry and Bouchon, both by Thomas Keller, and Bistro Jeanty). The hotel is wonderfully decorated, with clean spacious rooms, all of them with their chimney, and wooden floors and ceilings. The lobby, terrace and pool area are greatly decorated, they invite you to stay there to read a book, talk with friends, have a drink. These three areas have their chimneys as well, so even if it is cold you can enjoy being there. The pool is always warm and clean. The restaurant of the hotel has a delicious breakfast menu with great service. They lend you bikes at the hotel so than you can visit wineries or restaurants close by. Each room has a balcony or private terrace. So in conclusion this hotel invites you to spend time there and fully enjoy it. The bathrooms are very spacious and comfortable. Each morning the offer you free coffee and tea at the lobby and during the day fresh water. Every area , including the rooms, have free wifi. Every time we go to Napa we stay there, it is simply the best !!
