Lots of cute local shops and restaurants. Fun place to walk around, with the added bonus of a park at the top of Miner Street.

“Not Bad”
Reviewed 13 June 2013

Most of the shops were closed...nice old buildings and a few places to eat that were still open when we went for a walk there...

“Home of the Brave”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

Getting better every year. Very interesting district. Deserves ever more business. Long timers and newcomers provide traditional charm and eclectic flair. Bring on even more restaurants and galleries! Love the wide variety of businesses.

“Nice buildings, but looking a bit sad”
Reviewed 4 September 2012

The gold exhibit at the courthouse is gone - mostly stolen in Jan 2012.

Small farmers market (weekly, seasonal) is worth a stop.

There are a number of vacant shops, but take time to tour the Victorian houses - many are large and well-maintained (others not so much).

“Victorian era homes”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

Lots of homes for pre-1900's many in great shape others needing a little TLC. While looking at the homes saw a family of deer in a front yard snoozing under a tree
