My girlfriend and I have been going to Tams for about a year. The menu is standard fare for most grills. We would go for breakfast and sometimes dinner when we were not in the mood to cook. The chicken salad was what I ordered most of the time when we were not ordering breakfast. It is a good size salad. The only thing that I did not like was that they cut the chicken into a lot of small thin pieces and the chicken was like jerky. It dried up. The young kids who take the food to the tables are very nice and personable. The owner who works the cash register is the opposite. He is rude and acts as if he is doing you a favor by serving you at his restaurant. I have heard him berate his waiters and waitresses in front of customers including me. I asked him if he could cook an entire chicken breast for my chicken salad instead of slicing it up into 100 little pieces of chicken jerky. He looked at me and explained that they slice the chicken into many small pieces. You would of thought I was asking for something extravagant or something. The time before I went there he was not there and one of the young waiters was at the register. He gave me an entire chicken breast that was cut up into a few large pieces. It was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. The owner pretty much told me that they only serve the chicken salad was the version with the 100 pieces of dried jerky. My girlfriend and I were becoming regular customer, visiting almost weekly. We decided to stop eating there because of his attitude towards us. We were never rude in the least to him. The concept of good customer service is something he obviously does not grasp. I am sure he has plenty of business and will not even care about losing a regular customer. Out of principle we will never return to tams. Up the street there is a great little deli/sandwich shop called the Queen Bee. They have great salads and sandwiches made from fresh and premium ingredients. It may cost a bit more than Tams but it is well worth the little extra cost. They are also very personable and seem to greatly appreciate your business. Customer service is what brings customers back and ensures repeat business. From now on my girlfriend and I will drive right by Tams on the way to The Queen Bee where we will enjoy great fresh food and be served with a
