Townsend Place at Beaver Creek

Best value in Beaver Creek, full kitchen, fireplace and 4 beds. Could not get a hotel room for what we got the condo for from Vail Realty.

The units are individually owner and decorated. That being said, the quality and the taste varies enormously. This one, A206 was an appliance museum, with terrible bedding ( it must have been the cheapest, oldest mattress they had since '87).
The wood fireplace is impossible to use and I guess it's a common problem. It's just that the firewood it's too moist to catch any fire.
The walls are pretty thin or the plumbing is old and noisy.
Location is the selling point. 50 feet away from the building and you are on your way to Elkhorn Lift.
It takes 5 minutes to get to the village center.Parking is free, they have ski lockers and an outdoor jacuzzi.
If you have any control over the apartment you get, avoid A206.(managed and rented by Prudential)

We stayed at Townsend place for Christmas week in December. This was our third year travelling to Beaver creek for the holiday break and this was our best lodging choice yet. The 2 bedroom condo we rented was beautiful with leather couches, flat screen TV's in all the rooms and a wood burning fireplace. Townsend place is very close to the center of the village (less than a five minute walk and it has a ski path right outside the back of the building to the slopes. They also had a washer and dryer in the unit and a very hot outdoor jacuzzi. Although there are very few amenities in the building the common areas were very clean and quiet. I would highly recommend Townsend place if your considering Beaver Creek.

Wonderful family vacation!! We rented the 2BDRM/2BATH for 5 nights. The condo was emaculate with designer touches of coordinated bedding and furniture. The beds ( king in master and bunk in 2nd) were SOOO comfy and inviting after a long day of horseback riding, hiking, golf, or white water rafting. The hot tub can be seen from our condo and the temp was hot at all times of the day. (Blower jets turn off after 10 PM ,so can get pretty hot!!) The condo's just a short walk away from the village where you can find all kinds of great restaurants and shops. The kitchen is well equiped, but make sure you don't forget to buy the essentials (butter, milk, bread, etc)at the grocery store. Some condos DO supply salt and pepper and some packs of sugar and hot chocolate. There were plenty of towels and linens and the washer/dryer unit in the 2nd BDRM helped to always have
clean/dry towels handy. It has gas grills around the pool for a nice cookout while watching the kids swim! The pool is nice and heated, but can be cold when you get out!! Our condo didn't have any patio furniture on the balcony , so we had to pull chairs out to enjoy the cool summer breezes (most condos had patio furniture and some had a grill on the balcony). For a reasonably priced day with the family try the Glenwood Cavern Adventure Park. The gondola at Vail is FREE after 4 PM every night and has a "fun night" on Fridays. Beaver Creek also has "free" stuff on Fridays during the summer from 5-8. Have a great Colorado vacation in this beautiful condo complex!! CAn't wait to come back to ski!!!

After spending numerous hours looking for a condo for our Beaver Creek spring break trip, I chose Townsend Place. We booked through Beaver Creek Central Reservations and were told it was a "Gold" rated property. Upon our arrival, we were given keys to room 201. (My friend was given 305.) Upon entering, the furnishings were obviously dated and worn. Most apparent was the dirty kitchen. Grease splatters on the stove and microwave, old petrified dried up food in the sink strainer and dirty old area rugs, were a complete turn off. Also, I was under the impression that all of the units had two levels. This one did not. I called the reception center and they were able to move us to room 301 the next day. This unit was two levels and very spacious. The furnishings were a little better but I found the overall cleanliness, especially in the kitchen, to be lacking. The blinds in the master bedroom had rusty water stains all over them, as did some of the decorative toss pillows on the bed. The extra blankets in the closet looked old and not very clean and the master bath shower leaked all over the floor. The area rugs were also very dirty and worn. Our friends had unit 305 and it was decorated very nicely. They had granite counters, leather couches and updated bathrooms. We had a very good rate of $179 per night. I guess you really do get what you pay for, with the exception of unit 305.
