Terrific flowers and trail. Lake worth hike. Go early in the morning to follow creek. Beginning in Village nice to have nature tour. Some portions steeper but overall easy hike. No special equipment or boots required. Can extend hike to next lake but we didn't.

Started from the village this morning (four of us), and it was a great hike. Most if not all was uphill, but the scenery keeps you entertained along the way. Many places for pictures and rest stops. The river is nothing short of spectacular as you climb up.
The work to get up is well worth your reward to see Beaver Lake. It's tranquility and beauty is a sight for tired eyes, as you reach your end point. We packed a nice lunch and enjoyed watching some brown trout swim near us, and the little chipmunks come by and say hi to us.
Many hikers will take the same trail down to the village, which is the easiest and fastest way back. However, if you like hiking and want to see a totally different scene, take the Royal Elk Trail across the mountains to the Cinch Express Chairlift. It's a 2.5 mile hike across the mountains. It's also a spectacular hike and scenery. Not for the tired or weary!!
Enjoy!!

Hike started at 930am. Sunny but trail shaded msot of way. 3.25 miles up (and I mean up). Took 1 1/2 hrs, 2 50 yr olds (I thought in good shape). Lunch and viewing, it is beautiful. Would not miss.. Then back down, 1 hour 10 minutes. Take at least 2 bottles of water each. Enjoy.

We started at the Park Hyatt at Beaver Creek Village, walking past the empty chair lifts, walking up the Dally Trail/ road. What a change once we got on the Beaver Lake Trail - beautiful, wooded, cold and snowy.
The sun kept us warm and the incline kept our hearts pumping. This is a great trail for a workout, and the bonus of the lake at the end is worth the work. Not recommended for those with bad knees, it's harder on the way down. Must wear hiking boots with traction, as the mud and frozen ground become slippery when the sun starts to melt things. Pack a lunch, and enjoy the lake!

This hike was gorgeous, and the beautiful lake waiting at the top made all the work to get there SO worth it! We hiked with about 15 people, and there are parts of the climb that are rather strenuous for folks who may be a little out of shape. We had a couple in our group turn around about half way up (we are all from Texas and a lot of it was that we weren't that acclimated to the altitude yet). Anyway, if you are remotely in-shape, you MUST do this hike if you are in Beaver Creek during the summer. The lake is utterly indescribable, and the views up the second half of the hike are breathtaking. Don't think I would recommend for children, and bring PLENTY of water and some snacks!!
