“Perfect in every way!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2009

We just returned from 5 days at The Osprey. This hotel in a word… fabulous!!
They were the most accomadating hotel staff I have ever stayed with. The lead personcal concierge (Scott) is the poster boy of customer service. He is truly a professional! His ability to anticipate the needs of his guest (before the guest even knows)- puts him in a class at the top! The ski vallet gentlemen (in the hotels own ski vallet office) were also extrememly friendly and helpful. AND-All of the support staff was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and friendly

Example of staff: On the first night- I walked out of room to see if I could find some ice for the ice bucket. One of the hotels housekeeping staff saw me and asked if he could help me.
I told him I was looking for some ice and he took my bucket and told me he would take it to my room. I walked back to the room and two minutes later he was standing at my door .

We stayed at this hotel January 31- February 4th. We arrived at the airport and were met upon arrival by the hotel personal concierge who (along with a local shuttle van service) whisked us off to the hotel… about a 10 minute ride.

The hotel has a very modern feel entrance; after you wind through the Beaver Creek Village area, you arrive on a narrow paved road, drive under the covered entrance. Before we could reach for the door- all doors were opened for us the huge front lobby doors were opened and we were all greeted with a warm welcome. The staff asked us how our flight was closed the car door behind us and escorted us inside. We then went to check in given a very warm welcome by the receptionist.
Check in was a very easy process- then we were escorted up to have a tour of the hotel and be shown to our room.

After the tour- we were escorted to the common area of the hotel (with a spectacular view of the slopes) to relax on the big cushy chairs while the ski rental company fitted us for skis. It was very organized and all was set up by the hotel concierge- smoothly taken care of!

My husband and I were traveling with 6 other couples. As we were getting our skis and boots all fit for us I noticed the staff taking our luggage onto the elevators. Our luggage was handled for us from arrival at the airport to our room… we didn’t have to lift a finger.

Rooms-
Each bedroom had a fantastic view, one side of the hotel rooms had a view of the village, and the other of the closest slopes and the mountainside… breathtaking!

Everything in the room was first class - The room was well appointed, very modern, immaculately clean, comfortable and warm with an inviting gas fireplace which you control on and off.
There was a large bathroom with granite and stone countertop, double sinks, frameless glass doors in shower, and heated, beautiful marble tile floors. Shampoo, soap, bathrobes, slippers and lots of towels were also supplied.

The only complaint and this was minor, was that the rooms don’t have AC although they do have large windows and doors that can be opened.

Just some general things…
The Osprey is a true ski in ski out (the lift is literally 10 steps from the outdoor walkway of the resort; when you finish skiing, you drop your skis and boots at ski storage, which is staffed by the Osprey and Vail Resorts, located INSIDE the hotel, and you are done).

Internet- The hotel has free internet in the in the building.

Location- It is the closest hotel to the lifts! It’s about a 1 minute walk to the main street and shops, 2 minute walk to bus stop station. An excellent location for skiers, hikers, shoppers , and families.

Spa/Sauna rooms-
We enjoyed the pool/spa area, and the wet and dry saunas. In the pool area, there was a fire pit with charis around it in a circle which was great ---all times of the day!

VOLVO CAR SERVICE: The hotel allows guests to rent out the newest class of the Volvo sport utility vehicles.
The Osprey also offers complimentary shuttle service in their Volvo SUV's. This is great!

Breakfast- included in your stay!-
Breakfast was included with our rooms and every morning we looked forward to enjoying something from the great selection of fresh and tasty items (fresh breads and pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit salads, 2 hot items -eggs or bacon, cereal, etc).

Gym - the gym was spacious and had enough free weights to satisfy those needs to stay fit. There are also 2 treadmills and one eliptical machine.

All in all it was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. The lead concierge, Scott Tepper and his hotel staff had a great deal to do with that as they were always more than friendly, extremely helpful and went way way out of their way to make us feel comfortable during our stay. It was a perfect vacation in the magnificent beaver creek village! Everything was impecable, and perfect, from the airport welcome to the public places, the rooms, breakfast and over the top personal service.

We will return to the Osprey without hesitation!

Just back from 4 nights at the Osprey. Hadn't stayed there before so I can't do a before and after (remodel), but the after is very nice. Rooms are decent size and nicely decorated. Lobby is chic and comfortable. Bar area pleasant, pool and hottub, plus steam and sauna is first class. We had a little problem with ongoing construction noise (hotel includes private condo units on the upper two floors, which are still being renovated) which went on until after 9 pm on a Friday night. Also a problem with rowdy neighbors in adjacent room. Rooms with connecting doors should be avoided at all costs - there is no soundproofing. Manager (Adam) was very apologetic and handled both problems nicely by moving us to a room on the first floor while we were out skiing. Also hand wrote a note of apology and left us a nice souvenier blanket - very classy and much appreciated.

Things we liked:
Service - every single staff member was polite, helpful and pleasant at all times - right up there with the Four Seasons and Mandarin for service;
Location - literally 10 steps to the Strawberry Park chairlift, plus very short walk to the Village. True ski in, ski out.
Ski Valet - this is real quality of life. Hands you your warm boots and puts your skis out on the rack. Reverse on the return. Can't be beat.
Included hot breakfast - great variety and great, fresh food.
Lobby - after skiing, grab a beer and sink into a comfortable chair with the complimentary NYT or WSJ.
Ambiance - very warm, cozy, comfortable. Very ski-chalet like with an upscale decor.
Little things - book of menus for all the local restaurants, coffee in the lobby at 6 am, big flat screen tv in room, really comfortable bed with down comforter, big walk-in shower, gas fireplace in room, free internet(!).

Things that could be better:
Soundproofing between rooms - especially connecting rooms.
Better regulator on the HVAC - had trouble cooling the room.
No on-screen guide for the TV.
Could've used a small fridge - other than the honor bar.
Room needs more mirrors - only one is in the bathroom.
Walk-in shower needs a towel rack inside for washcloth.

Overall, great hotel. Highly recommended.

Just in time for the grand opening!! There was still a little construction on going but the remodel is great. It is simple and comfortable and the smallness of the lift side resort is an absolute asset. The chef's small platesare fantastic , his breakfast buffet outstanding to get you out on the slopes with healthy energy. We loved the oversized showers with good water pressure , the tall ceilings in the room make it feel spacious . Because of the ski valets there is no need to clunk through the hallways in ski boots toting skis, they are keep in a room with a oh so helpful ski valet ,boots are dry and warm on boot dryers and all but 20ft. from the lift!!! We enjoyed the other guests in the entertainment room and around the hottub pool area. Nothing feels better than the steam room right after hitting the slopes. Very enthusiastic staff and one that even looks like ashton kucher(donavan) They all seem to want this resort to be the best little find on the mountain
