Description: Murphy's has been serving Boulder since 1984! The original Murphy's in North Boulder was started in 1984. Since then we have worked hard to keep ahead of the times without losing that comfortable neighborhood feel that is so pleasant. We're happy to have you join us whether it be in South Boulder, North Boulder, or our Louisville, CO Tap House. Murphy's does a contemporary take on American cuisine. We mix old favorites like meatloaf and make it with Bison and top it with mushroom-shallot gravy. Our bar has all of the best beers from around the world as well as great local craft beers. Our drinks harken back to the golden days of well made cocktails like the Old Fashioned. We aim for you to be comfortable whether you are a new-born or shall we say slightly older. Our goal is to be the best neighborhood restaurant you could hope for!

“Inconsistency in Taste and Quality”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

My friends and I go to Murphy's on average once a month. Over the past year my experience with this restaurant has become more and more negative. The greens in the salad are wilted and brown around the edges, the menu selection is lacking. I have become a vegetarian and there is precious little that they offer in that category. The fish and chips is sometimes excellent, other times greasy and overcooked. My friend's favorite dish is pasta a la Murphy which is not even on the menu anymore but they will always make it for her. Mr. Bob's Steak sandwich used to be quite good but that is not an option anymore as I am meatless. Sometimes the food is not hot enough I have noticed. I ordered ice cream on one visit during the past year on top of their "signature" brownie that was old and scraped from the bottom of the barrel. (They replaced it.) A lot of seniors still go here. I think people take out of town guests, there is a very active bar scene. Its noisy and a good place for kids. However, its become run of the mill, unexciting almost like a national restaurant chain. Nothing wrong with the service and the parking is usually excellent. Just don't get your hopes up for a gourmet meal.

“South Boulder's best restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2013

South Boulder does not have the same charm as downtown Boulder, nor does it have the great choices in restaurants. However the locals enjoy dining at Murphy's because it has a great atmosphere, great food, and the friendly service that Boulder is known for. They don't take reservations which mean peak hours are busy. We just moved into the area and Murphy's has fast become our favorite.

“Better than average; good for brunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2012

Visited here for brunch and ordered the massive breakfast burrito. It was good. Service was pleasant and efficient. All in all, it was a nice place to meet up with a friend for brunch. The outdoor patio can be nice in the summer.

“Good Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2012

Such a plain exterior that you would almost pass it up. Only went there because of trip advisor's review recommendation and the reviews were right on the mark. The food was excellent and the atmosphere had a modern flare to it. Would definitely go back again.

“Don't order the mussels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2012 via mobile

This looks like a fun trendy restaurant but that means you have to wait for a table on a Friday night. It also means that if you're seated in the long row of tables that you'll practically be dining with the tables next to you. My daughter enjoyed her chicken dish but there was nothing great about the 6 overcooked, tastleless tiny mussels I ordered. Definitely would opt for the pizza or a burger if I go back.
