“Pretty walk”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

There is a fee to enter Eldorado Canyon by car. Rock climbing is allowed and many people were climbing. We did not go to rock climb but we hiked up the trail along the river and climbed some until of course it got too technical. The trails were still in rough shape I assume from the floods but passable. The views were great and it was pretty. The trail was not very strenuous to hike. It was nice overall but honestly have to say forgettable and I would not make it a go-to destination.

“Great for a picnic and to watch the climbers on a summer eve”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

It is great to grab a pizza and go on a summer evening and watch the climbers. We sometimes, for an expensive evening, grab a couple of pizzas at Costco and drive out to Eldorado Canyon after work and just enjoy the summer evening watching the climbers. Amazing place

“Incredible Place”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

Call this place church because it is so peaceful, along with the fact that I spent nearly every sunday one fall going into the canyon. A boulder must-see if into hiking and the outdoors. Good alternative to going up to Rocky Mountain National Park due to lack of time/winter or summer to avoid the crowds. Less populated than the flatirons, with better craggy views.

“Great day up in the mountains, Windy but worth it!”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

Met a local who recommended it to us in place of heading to Estes Park for some snowshoeing fun. There were some bad winds up Rocky Mountain National Park and our snowshoeing tour was canceled early on a Saturday morning. So we really wanted to get out, so called Eldorado and they said they were open. Got in the car and headed up, fairly easy drive up. Plenty of parking, felt like we had arrived at a Disney theme park with all the cars, and the parking attendants guiding us where to go. Must say it was well organized.

Got a little nervous in the parking lot, as folks were adding layer after layer of some serious looking clothing gear. We wondered if were too out of our element being from Miami. But braved on, and glad we did.

We rented snowshoes and poles, and paid the fee to use the trails. All total came to $72 for rentals and day passes. That was more than Estes Park rental and cost to get into Rocky Mountain National but after experiencing the service and how well the trails were marked and frankly the beauty of area, we were very pleased with our time there.

It was a fun day, a bit windy but once on the trails not so bad. They also had cross-country skiing and that looked like a blast. We'd absolutely return here and try that.

We left at around 3PM, and that was plenty for us. The area was packed and we anticipated a fair amount of traffic would begin around 4PM as the sun starts to set early and we don't have much mountain road driving experience. So played it safe.

Would highly recommend!
