world class bands, movie night, local events... this place is a Boulder classic. Check out their listings to see if there is something you like because it is definitely worth a vidist.

Great sound, lots of seating and an excellent booker make this my favorite. Don't miss e-town tapings!

The Boulder Theater is not the most well known music venue in town but I had the chance to see a great live show there, Bright Eyes. The theater has a slightly dusty, vintage, 1900's look to it for sure but it does have charm. There are basically three bars. One large double sided bar when you first walk into the standing room only bottom floor and another smaller bar up top in the balcony. I got there early when the doors first open and snagged a decent seat in the very limited balcony. The front row seats were the first to go and the others didn't last long so if you want to sit down grab one of these early and don't lose it.

The sound system was very good and the band sounded great. I can't complain really it's not a big venue by any means. I would say no more then 1,000 to 1,500 people would fit in the place if you really tried.

Years ago, the Boulder Theater was the "in" place. Now, it lacks upgrades. From a dimly lit movie screen to poorly mixed sound for live events, this place has lost its way.
