We stayed four days in two double rooms at this hotel with our two teens for a family vacation. In many ways this was a top hotel, but there were some misses that shouldn't happen at a hotel billing itself as a top hotel (both in price and in ads). Upon arrival our first night reservation was lost. I had received both a personal email from the head of reservations and two computer-generated confirmations and after some hassel, we were given two rooms (we had requested two queen beds but got a king - not popular with boy & girl teens sharing a room!). We could change rooms the next day to our requested room but that left us with a gap from the check-out time to the check-in time. The reception took off 50 USD for compensation. We were not charged the rate on our confirmation, and told the reception on check-in and showed them the printed confirmation. Despite promises to fix this, at check out we were charged the higher rate and had to once again show them the printed confirmation and have the invoices redone - an unnecessary time-stealer when rushing to the airport. The rooms were nice but nothing extraordinary for this class of hotel. I like the bath which features separate room for toilet, separate bath and shower, but I expect this at this class and price of hotel. Good wifi. Not much space for hanging or putting away clothes or suitcases - tiny closet. Concierge was very helpful and friendly. The valet service was good and efficient. The restaurant was merely okay and there are much better places to eat and drink close by (better food, better selection, better atmosphere, and better value) - try Ten-ten across the street! The patio service is horrible - I went and fetched things myself and we literally sat for more than an hour with dirty dishes before I bussed them myself to a nearby empty table. Watch out for the pool - its billed as a "two-lane lap pool" but it is a shallow infinity pool in a dimly lit area by the gym. Upon arriving our family went to the pool and in the first lap our teenage son swam into the edge which couldn't be seen due to the low lightning and infinity style (as in you can't see the edge I guess). The pool edge is not "normal" but is very sharp made of rough stone. We ended up in the emergency room where my son got 8 stiches on the bridge of his nose, which was broken, facial abraisions and a chipped front tooth. The doctor in the ER asked where the accident happened, and when we told him, he said that "oh that pool -it may look nice but it is dangerous". When I mentioned to the hotel later that night that they ought to warm people about watching out when swimming laps, the receptionist told me that the pool was "not a recreational pool but only for relaxing in" - he should read their hotel brochure! (and he charged me 3.50 USD for a few Tylenol that I asked for to give my son!) No one from the hotel seemed to care about the pool incident. The location of the hotel is great - near to the Pearl street walking area. We liked that the hotel could offer shuttle service to restaurants and that they had some cruising bikes to use. We travel alot and the price of the hotel is a bit much for what you get here. The service is pretty relaxed as compared to excellent (not at all like in Europe, Asia or even major US cities) but it may be the Boulder style or perhaps most of the employees are college kids rather than professionals. And I guess we would recommend this hotel as it doesn't have much competition.

This is a very nice hotel in a great part of town (a block from Pearl st). You can walk to everything. The hotel rooms are nice, but small. My sister had her wedding here and everything went off without a hitch. The staff was incredibly nice and food was good.

Our second stay. Very well done. Nice pool, spa. I know Colorado is liberal, but without Fox News the TV is a propaganda tool. No return trips!

Stayed here with my wife in early June. Very simply put, this is a great hotel. We stay in Ritz Carlton's more than anything in our travels, being that we are admittedly, hotel snobs. In comparison, we thought this was a very nice property. Clean, well decorated, helpful staff, good location, even some great music in the lobby on both nights we were there. Only negative I can think of is that things purchased at the hotel are pricey. Not surprising for a hotel at this level. Didn't use the spa (chilled in the jacuzzi one night), so can't really opine on that. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in one of their wedding suites on our wedding night and it was just perfect. It's the schwankie posh polished hotel you'd want for such an occasion (more on the modern but inviting and extemely comfortable end of design). I highly recommend it!

Our daughter just graduated from CU and we are very proud. However, we will miss visiting the St. Julien Hotel. We have always had a wonderful time there. The staff is wonderful without being overbearing. We love the lobby for relaxing and having drinks while watching hotel guests come and go. The rooms are stylishly decorated, and many have great views of the flatirons, and the beds are some of the best. We love the convenience of the location, a short walk to shopping on Pearl Street and many great dining options. This hotel has been our home away from home. Although we won't miss the tuition payments, we will miss the St. Julien.

We flew into Denver on a Sunday evening and the drive to Boulder was really easy. Arriving in the rain, a doorman brought an umbrella to the driver side for me and saw me safely inside before unloading our mammoth amount of luggage.
The St Julien is lovely: friendly efficient staff and the rooms are well appointed. Not the biggest I've seen but more than adequate. The location is great - a couple of blocks off the main streets in Boulder, but just out of the way enough.
We didn't eat in the hotel as there are lots of great places nearby, but Jills did look very nice and if you sit on the terrace outside there are fab mountain views.
For breakfast, try Lucille's and Breakfast on Pearl. For a great value lunch or dinner, Pasta Jay's.
