My husband and I have wanted to visit this inn for some time because the initial log cabin portion of the inn was built (a looong time ago) by my husband's great grandfather -- John Ripley. We found the inn to be rustic and delightfully quirky as now owned and operated by John and Jeannine Vanderhart. The Magnolia Room was very comfortable: spacious, with a King bed, a fireplace, soaking tub and a pleasant outdoor balcony. Rooms feature our favorite TV channels -- and prompt dispatch from and receipt to our blackberry and I-Phone! There are several very pleasant sitting rooms up-and-downstairs, complete with fireplaces, suitable for reading, relaxing, sipping or cozy gatherings. Jeannine cooks wonderful breakfasts and makes the best scones in the world. I, previously didn't like scones, but these were excellent -- fresh, moist and warm! -- and we loved the fritatas and the hearty oatmeal. The friendly atmosphere made us feel very welcome - - almost like coming home. John and Jeannine were fun to chat with and extremely helpful in suggesting sights to see and excellent places to dine in and around Boulder. We shall return!

Room Tip: Magnolia Room was excellent -- and the only room we saw!

The Alps Boulder Canyon Inn is a beautiful rustic bed and breakfast perfectly situated between the Eldora Mountain Ski area and all of the fun of downtown Boulder. The Magnolia Room we enjoyed was charming and allowed us to enjoy the in-room soaking tub and our own fireplace. The Inn itself is run by a wonderful staff who are conscientious by unimposing and the breakfast there is superb! This is a must if you are planning on staying in the area!

A beautiful alternative to the usual sterility of most hotels. More amenities then I could take advantage of in a single trip. The staff is friendly and accommodating with excellent suggestions for dining and sights and local events. Luxurious linens, fireplaces and oversized tubs in many of the rooms and the large dining area made our family reunion a great communal and individual experience. I would recommend this inn to anyone who wants a memorable stay in a one of a kind establishment. Thanks Alps Staff!

Room Tip: Try the Sunset room ,very romantic.

Absolutely loved the Alps Boulder Canyon Inn. It is situated just a few minutes drive into Boulder Canyon, very pretty area. The atmosphere is lodge like yet elegant. Our room was gorgeous - beautiful fireplace, balcony, stained glass window, very tastefully appointed. The front desk always had a lovely supply of beverages and snacks, everything from fresh peach iced tea to home baked cookies. The breakfast was fabulous and gourmet. Warm, fresh basked scone, omelet to order, fresh fruit. I would highly recommend this inn for anyone who wants the convenience of Boulder yet the feeling of being secluded in the mountains. Would definitely return.
