At Crystal Peak, my husband Clark and I love getting our two bedroom - one den, 2 bathroom condo.. Everything was beautiful. We have stayed here mored that 5 times a year, and it's always been laid back and quiet all through the summer for us. If you are going to stay in the summer, request a room over looking the Continental Divide. The view is breathtaking! During the winter, a view of the ski slopes is nice. The fall is absolutley beautfiul to stay here too. There are great hiking trails on property, Also this wonderful Condo has a sauna, outdoor hot-tub, exersise room and even a pool table. It is a short distance to downtown Breckenridge, where we love to walk and shop. We also like the friendly staff who provides free shuttle into town, instead of driving. We also like the fact we can park our car safely under the building. We will definitely keep coming back year after year! Trust us once you go to Crystal Peak, you will want to come back over and over to this resort.

Room Tip: Winter, slope side is awesome. We feel no matter what room you want, we promise you won't be di...

My family just spent a week at Crystal Peak Lodge and can't wait to go back. The condo we rented was like new and everything felt very upscale. We loved being able to use the amenities at One Ski Hill Place and then returning to the quiet and laid back atmosphere at Crystal Peak. Everyone at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Access to town was super easy via the gondola during the day and by car in the evening. We rented through All Summit Accomodations and believe we saved a little on the week long rental. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you Barry B for your review. We really appreciate the positive things you had to say about the property as a whole.

If you do not book through Breckenridge Hospitality or Crystalpeaklodge.com, then you are not booking with the onsite lodging manager. Breckenridge Hospitality operates the front desk on property and offers their guests daily housekeeping, and onsite maintenance staff which no other lodging entity can offer. If you book through other management services you will check in off site and work with someone off the premise, this is also who you will need to contact to take care of any housekeeping or maintenance needs. Unfortunately if you do book with an offsite property manager, the front desk will not be able to assist with these services.

As far as rates go I can assure that the rates that can be booked directly with Breckenridge Hospitality or other travel sites like Expedia are comparable to any rate out there. The rate you receive depends upon several factors including the time of booking, the length of stay, the season, and whether you book other packages with your hotel reservation. Not to mention our rates include daily housekeeping service, a front desk that is on call 24 hours a day, and a maintenance staff that can be at your unit in a matter of minutes if an issue arises.

Sincerely,
Chris

We booked our first ski trip to Breckenridge through Crystal Peak Lodge and thought everything went fairly smoothly to begin with. I was told they could package our ski rental equipment, lift passes and ski lessons as a bundle for our group which they did, but not without some snafu's once we arrived. It seems the information booked through the hotel never made it's way correctly over to the ski office where the lift tickets, etc. needed to be picked up. Thankfully, the folks over there (at the ski office) immediately sorted through the confusion and got us what we needed.

Because this was our first ski vacation, i felt the Lodge staff were less than helpful in explaining things. For example, they said all equipment was included in the price we paid. However, when we picked up our equipment on our first day of skiing, we were told helmets were extra -- to the tune of $88 for the 4 of us for a few days. This should have been noted up front at time of booking equipment.

Also, I asked one of the reservationist in my first phone call if Crystal Peak (which is at Peak 7) had green runs and i was told yes. I thought this would be convenient since we were all first-timers. As it turns out, the runs at Crystal Peak are all blue. Therefore, we had to take the gondola to Peak 8 (or shuttle to Peak 9) to ski green runs. The gondola to Peak 8 is no big deal -- it's literally next door, a 1 minute ride away -- but it would have been nice to have known this in advance. We may have booked reservations somewhere closer to the Peaks 8 or 9.

Additionally, when we checked into Crystal Peak we were given a "voucher" which outlined our ski package (# of lift days, etc.). However, no one ever told us we then needed to take that voucher to the ski office at Peak 8 the day of our ski lessons so they could then issue lift tickets. So, during the middle of our lessons when we were asked for our lift tickets, I only had our voucher. We had to then go back to the ski office and get those printed out (which is when they told us our reservations were all screwed up and the wrong information had been forwarded by the condo). Again, the ski office staff at Peak 8 were wonderful in sorting through the confusion and making it right.

Perhaps most frustrating was the sleeping situation in our condo. I SPECIFICALLY asked before booking if we could get a 2-bedroom condo with TWO BEDS in the second bedroom, not just 1 bed in that room. Since we were traveling with two, tall 16-year old boys, I explained utilizing a sleeper sofa for one of the boys just wouldn't work. I was assured the second room would have bunk beds, at very least. That was fine. Sure enough, when we checked into our condo the second bedroom only had 1 double bed. When i called the office to complain, they said they couldn't "guarantee" 2 beds in the second room, and they had no other condo's available with such accommodations. They recommended the sleeper sofa. SO FRUSTRATING considering what we paid and what I SPECIFICALLY asked during booking.

On the bright side, I will say the condos are lovely inside. Nice furniture and nice bathrooms. Our unit was literally right at the base of the gondola stop so if you didn't keep the windows closed it could be loud, but it was definitely a quick hop, skip and jump to get on the gondola. The Independence Super Chair Lift is right out the back door of Crystal Peak, but like I said, if you're not skiing blue runs, not much help.

Overally, I would say this is a beautiful condo complex and conveniently located for most things. But if you're looking for ski-in/ski-out to green runs, you won't find them here. Crystal Peak is quite a bit cheaper than One Ski Hill Place (which is where Peak 8 is located and where all the action seems to be) and the two resorts sit practically side-by-side, so I can't say if it would be worth it to pay so much more money for One Ski Hill Place. It's not that i wouldn't recommend Crystal Peak, it just wasn't exactly what we expected. I would have liked to have had better information on how all this ski stuff works prior to arriving. If you've never taken a ski trip before, ask LOTS of questions in advance. I thought I did but clearly, we had a lot to learn once we arrived.

Room Tip: ask for rooms that face the mountain/chair lift. Our room faced the gondola and was on the ground f...

Thank you Bisquin for your review of our property!

I want to apologize for the the issues that you had during your stay. Yes Peak 7, the location of Crystal Peak Lodge only has Blue Runs, but as you mentioned it is a short gondola ride to Peak 8 which has a wide variety of terrain. Also with the style of property Crystal Peak is, we unfortunately cannot make guarantees of particular bedding. The reason for this is that all of the units are individually owned and therefore the decision of bedding comes down to the particular owner and can change at any time. We are looking into the issues that you had during the making of your reservation as we want to prevent any misunderstanding in the future.

Thank you for staying with us, we hope to see you again!

Chris

My wife, and I along with our 6 year old daughter stayed here 5 nights that we booked through Jetsetter. It was our 2nd stay in Breck this season - had stayed at One Ski Hill Place in December for 5 nights but One Ski Hill was almost 2X the cost of Crystal Peak for President's Day week.

Overall, Crystal Peak exceeded our expectations. We generally thought Crystal Peak would be 1 step below One Ski Place and perhaps that is the case but just barely. We ended up thinking that our 2 bedroom condo was slightly nicer and certainly had a better floor plan that the 2 bedroom we stayed at previously at One Ski Hill. This may be because this condo had an owner who had upgraded some of the furnishings vs. the One Ski Hill unit we stayed in had not been sold yet. As was true with One Ski Hill, the kitchen was very well appointed and we cooked in two of our 6 nights.

I also generally prefer the Peak 7 based vs. Peak 8. It's less crowded and I think generally less windy. I did miss having a restuarant/bar in the Crystal Peak lodge than One Ski Hill but it wasn't a big deal.

Front desk and housekeeping services were also good.

So in short, also rating this a 5 and hope to certainly return.

I try to go for ski-in/ski-out when choosing accommodation wherever we go skiing - I think this was the very closest we have ever been - we could see the chairlift just below our window! The accommodation was not cheap by any means but it was class - every item of equipment was quality! The beds were comfortable, the service great and when we were forced to stay in because of a power cut and high winds there were plenty of games to keep us occupied. we went over to use the bowling alley at the sister property which was great and we were made very welcome there too.
