We were here for only one night (Feb 23), so take the review as you will, but we were very happy with the experience. All staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming (including cleaning staff in hallways that normally look right through you), especially the car valets. We requested a low floor (due to reviews about multiple elevators) but none were available for early check-in so we took a room on 9th floor. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal to use two elevators and walk down some hallways. Maybe if we had been there for a week we would have tired of it, but like another reviewer said, I'd rather walk down some halls than have to drag ski gear a block away. Which brings us to location- GREAT for skiing - literally walk out the front door, cross the street and a small parking lot and you're almost at the base of Peak 9. Put on skis and ski down to Quicksilver lift. Used online Epic Pass, had to do nothing but start skiing! Location isn't the greatest for walking into town, however Hilton has an on-demand shuttle that will drop-off and pick-up as needed. You CAN walk, but it's uphill when returning to hotel from town and surprisingly can be a struggle at that altitude. Shuttle and Breck buses worked fine!

Room was very nice, had everything we needed and king bed was very comfortable.

Valet car service - yes, you must pay to have your car valet parked. BUT, valet service was fast, friendly, efficient and you can take your car in and out of valet as many times as you want for the fee each day. Note, you don't have access to your car in the garage, however, if you need something from your car (or, like us, want to check-out, put bags in car and then keep skiing) the guys will bring your car around front and let you do what you need and then return it to the garage --no attitude, no impatience, just great service! (I felt a little bad...we had them do this a couple of times..)

Due to short stay, we didn't use any hotel amenities except for the free breakfast for Gold HH members- it was fine. For what it's worth, we've already reserved a room for a longer stay next February.

My husband I booked a room for 3 nights using Hilton HHonors points during spring break. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to circumstances beyond our control so I called the hotel to cancel, giving a week's notice. I was informed the hotel would be charging me one night's stay plus taxes for cancelling even though I was using points and not actually paying with a credit card. They have a 21 day cancellation policy during spring break, which is obsurd. After I called Hilton HHonors I was informed they would not make any money if they allowed all cancellations. There is no consideration to the guests circumstances or your loyalty to the Hilton brand at this hotel. To expect a Diamond member to pay for the room when they were never getting money from me in the beginning is ridiculous. We will not be staying here in the future.

The Doubletree in Breckenridge was great - we loved it. The location is prime - it's not technically ski-in/ski-out, but it's just a short walk to the slopes on pretty flat ground (less than 4 minutes I'd guess, from the front door). The room itself was HUGE, too - we had a king bed, with a small kitchenette and a small alcove at the window with a nice chair to curl up in after skiing. Compared to other resorts in the area, it was definitely on the nicer side, but really the biggest draw is the location!

So what put my rating to "5?" The staff. The bellstaff was extremely helpful when we arrived, and when we were getting directions to the slopes on day one. Always smiling and willing to assist - very nice! The front-desk staff was stellar as well - very polite, efficient, and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Great location, comfortable bed and lots of pillows! Elevators in desperate need of replacement and enlargement. As HHonors Gold members, were given coupons for a "cold breakfast" buffet, which was surprising. Wait staff stated we "needed to tip", which is unprofessional and unnecessary.

Room Tip: Elevators in desperate need of updating. As HHonors Gold Members, we were allowed only a free "...

It's all about the location-- right across the street and through a (small) parking lot to the bottom of Peak 9. Also a couple of blocks walk from Main Street. The rooms are huge. Nice views. The breakfast buffet is good and worth it- especially if you want to get on the slopes quickly. Don't expect to check in early, but checking out late is easy enough. Comfy beds. Thin walls. The elevator transfer didn't other me- I'd rather be walking across a hotel than carrying skis across town. Hot tubs are small and crowded after the slopes close.

We stayed at this hotel some years ago when it was called The Great Divide. It was a bit tired back then. Nice upgrades and freshening under the Doubletree management.

Our room was on the 10th floor. Like the larger Beaver Run Resort up the street, getting to the room makes one feel like a rat in a maze. Guess that just goes with a large hotel on the side of a mountain. The bed and linens were great, the bathroom fine for us (a bit small but spotless and nice), and the shower better than ours at home! For an extra $15 we purchased a buffet breakfast for two package. The usual stuff and like other American breakfast buffets, no olives, no cheese, no fancy pastries.

Parking: back in the days of The Great Divide days, it was self park. Now, $25 valet only. The staff was very quick and pleasant when we needed the car. Your skis go with you into your room.

The Good: The location is great, very close to the ski lifts and also close to main street. Hotel rooms are nice and clean. Average size for 80s/90s era hotel. Outdoor hottubs are nice feature.

The Bad: The only parking option available is $25/night, no other parking is available nearby so they got ya. The breakfast buffet is $18, which besides being over priced, the quality of food was awful. I would not eat the breakfast food again even if it was free.

Note, this Hotel is owned and operated by Vail Resorts, formerly The Great Divide Lodge (it is NOT owned by Hilton). Vail Resorts are known as the most expensive ski resorts in North American and it shows, the prices for all goods and services are extremely inflated at this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms above the 7th floor are actually in another connected building up the hill, requiring walking...
