The hotel is a little older but has been renovated nicely and is in a great location, right next to the beaver run lift. The rooms were nice, quiet, and had a great view. The outdoor hot tub after a long day of snowboarding is a great way to relax.

Stayed here during winter break and LOVED the location to peak 9, as well as two surprises: FREE valet parking included with resort fee and FREE shuttle rides to anywhere in the town of Breckenridge all day and night! This was extremely convenient, as the January nights were cold and parking in downtown Breck during dinner was next to impossible. (tried once, gave up, drove back to hotel and took shuttle downtown).

Front staff and valet staff were superb. Staff is generally young, friendly, and are there for skiing and snowboarding also. (Recent college grads mostly).

Two downsides though: my room got incredibly cold at night and was drafty even with heat turned to the max of 80 (probably due to being an end unit). Slept in full clothes all nights. Older heating system it appeared. The room was very large but prone to more drafts. Second downside is bathroom counter didn't seem clean x 2 days, towels not folded etc., then the last half of week perhaps due to staff shift changes, etc., bathroom was cleaned 100% better. Took over 24 hours to get room service dishes out of the hallway, too...not a big deal just short staffed, perhaps?

Dear Guest,
The DoubleTree Breckenridge team was very pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the shuttle and other perks at our hotel. The staff works very hard to accomodate all our visitors and I will pass along your warm remarks to everyone. I apologize for the heating and cleaning service issues you experienced during your trip. I have spoken with my Chief Engineer and Executive Housekeeper and we are all working hard to make sure these mishaps you experienced don't occur in the future. Thank you again for joining us at the DoubleTree in Breckenridge!

It was a pleasure staying here with my wife and 2 teenage kids from January 1-5. The hotel, service and location were all excellent. Breck ski is on the premises and you can walk across the street and ski down to the lift at Peak 9. We couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy a ski vacation.

Stayed for a week in early December, 2013 while attending Hartford Ski Spectacular. For the discount rate of $110/ night we were blown away by the service and the facilities - enjoyed heated garage for vehicle during record breaking cold weather (high temps in the teens, lows well below zero) Parking valet folks were very accommodating, even finding a parking space in the heated garage for our small trailer, during one of their slower weeks of the year.

Location is across the street from chairlift parking lot (also Beaver Run convention center, restaurants, etc.) and ski valets cheerfully carried our bulky skibikes across the street to the ski area upon request.

Our room was fabulous (although admittedly we are used to more modest accommodations). The two queen beds were very comfortable, with luxury linens, down duvet, etc. and the room was large with granite countertops and included a mini-frig, sitting area with a couch and a small balcony. We stayed on the fourth floor, so view included the roof and hvac equipment, with a partial view of the mountain. Halls are long, but location on lower floor was good for us and our dog - only one elevator required. Room was quiet, clean and very comfortable.

Staff was very helpful, including free shuttle rides to town, cleaning staff accommodated our requests such as extra delicious coffee for the in-room coffee maker, front desk staff also very helpful with requests, photocopies, etc.

The restaurant was a bit pricy, but we did enjoy sharing a to-go breakfast that was very well cooked, and large enough for the both of us to share. The only negatives we experienced were with the Hilton reservation phone line - was confusing, and email confirmations were unclear. When we reserved the room, the information was not updated for current policies - specifically, there is an additional $20/ day "resort fee" that covers the cost of valet parking, ski valet, wifi, etc. this resulted in a hefty additional unexpected charge waiting for us at check-out.

Ernest, at the front desk did a good job of explaining the extra charge, but it still was a shock, as we are budget minded travelers. We also had an issue that he worked very hard to correct - upon check in we were asked for a credit card to take care of any incidental charges incurred, and we did not realize that Hilton would put a hold for $350 on that card in advance. Ernest went to great lengths to help get that charge removed - he even called our bank for us - to successfully place that hold on a different card for us.

All in all, it was a great stay. We felt that we and our dog were very welcome. However for the price would have appreciated premium TV channels, and a continental breakfast included in the price of the room. Also, we should have known up front that we would be paying an extra $20 for parking and ski valet, and wifi so we could plan accordingly

The Staff at the hotel were very pleasant and attentive. I was given an additional AAA discount by the manager without a hassle. I was greeted every time I passed the front desk. One of the valets called the ski shop to open up after hours so I could return the equipment. They were very accommodating. The ski shop is right inside for rentals. Two lifts are within easy walking distance even with ski boots and equipment. The free shuttle was very convenient and came quickly when called.
The rooms are a nice size and very clean. I had a double queen mountain view. However the bathroom was so tiny that the toilet prevented the door from fully opening. They need to enlarge the bathrooms. The hot tubs wee clean but losing paint. The pool and workout rooms were nice. In general a solid 3 star but needs some cosmetic updates. Would give 3.5 because the staff is so nice.

Room Tip: Get a mountain view room
