“Nice house but lacked maintenance and outside issues”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Very nice house and a really cool layout! We loved that we could bring our Bernese Mountain dog and they give you treats & few potty bags. It does have a lot of stairs as they state so be prepared for that. I think it has been awhile since they went through the house to repair small things. We repaired ourselves the bar stools that were loose, a bathroom stool that ran continuously. There were a lot of light bulbs out, the handle to the stove was really loose, the interior fountains don't work. The house itself was clean but the exterior decks and patios were filthy. We swept and washed those down ourselves since we had a dog and he was getting really dirty. The exterior pictures are kind of deceiving they make it look like you are not close to other houses but you are. They show a lovely fire pit in the pictures but it had been removed and an empty flower pot put in its place. When we asked if we could have a fire they said no. I understand when last year was a bad fire season not to have a fire but this year was a good rainfall year. The place we stayed last year changed out to a propane fire pit so that wouldn't be an issue. I asked them to remove this from there website and two months later it is still there. Also, if you see the beautiful waterfall they have in there pictures it is really rocks & mud. It runs only when there is snow melt. They have a pump up at the top of the falls but when I called to ask where the switch to turn the pump on was at they said it doesn't have one. The grounds could have used some serious weeding. So for the price we paid we wished we would not have had these issues, but needless to say we still made the best of it and had a wonderful time. FYI if you like eggs in the morning bring your own spatula the kitchen is really good except that and don't forget you spices they have very few. It is a great house for a family get together. We were there over the fourth of July and Breckenridge has wonderful fireworks. We love the town with all of the shops and restaurants. They only have one grocery store though and it is crazy busy!! We hiked Hoosier pass which is beautiful. We also went to Blue Lake which is beautiful!

“Perfect Spot”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed at Alpine Majesty for 1 week with extended family. The house was absolutely wonderful and became a big part of the vacation itself. We loved congegrating in the lower level pool room/bar/den watching movies and relaxing after full days of hiking and chasing around our kids. The house was extremely well-maitained, and comfortable for 8 adults and 4 kids under the age of 3.
We especially enjoyed grilling and eating meals on the patio beside the kitchen. It's a very peaceful area, but also only a 7 minute drive to Breckenridge village. Best of both worlds. We will most definitely return to this special place.

Management Response
19 Jan 2014
Dear Paul,

Our policy is to return security deposit 30 days after a guest departs. You agreed to this when you signed our rental agreement. Our system processes security deposits every 2 weeks and based on your departure (and the fact that you had no damages) your deposit would have been processed sooner than 30 days. The need for 30 days which is allowed by the CREC (unless there are damages) is to give the property management company time to remedy any damages done to the property by the guest.

Yes, the home has five levels with the master suite on the top levels. Our website mentions that several times.

Paragon Lodging's goal is to provide an excellent vacation experience for our guests. We are sorry your experience was less than 5 stars.

“Majestic”

We stayed at the Alpine Majesty with a group of 10 adults and 4 children. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and spread out without feeling cramped. The property was absolutely beautiful and the house, immaculately clean. All you really need to do is pick up some groceries and you will be set for the week! The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc. but you may want to pick up some extra spices/condiments.

A few details that you might not find in the description:

From town, you need to take a steep, windy road up the mountain to get to the house. The driveway is pretty narrow and it's difficult to maneuver cars in and out. The house is tucked in the mountainside next to several others, so you definitely have neighbors, but still a great view.

You enter the house from the basement level where there is a 3 car garage. You need to climb a small flight of stairs to the game room level where there is a big screen tv with plenty of comfy seating, a pool table, and bar. There is also a very small bedroom with two bunk beds. This room is way smaller than I imagined (the beds are literally up against each other and the surrounding walls), but it works for kids.

Climb another flight of stairs to the main level. There is a large family room with a deck and hot tub and a dining room off to the side. The kitchen is open to the living area as well as a patio with a grill and fire pit, so it's perfect for entertaining. Also, it's big enough for plenty of chefs in the kitchen!

The main staircase leads to two bedrooms on the second floor that are separated by an open "bridge". One bedroom is larger than the other and has a walk out balcony, but both are perfect for couples. They each have en suites that are akin to master baths.

The final flight of stairs (that's five total) takes you to the "penthouse suite". There is a large bedroom on one side and a living/tv room on the other with an enormous master bath in the middle. The master bath has a huge jacuzzi tub and a walk in shower big enough for 2...or more.

My absolute only complaint about this house is that there is no "guest" bathroom really. The elevators are/were closed so instead of wasting that space, it would have been nice to have a half bath for guests to use.

Another thing I think is important to note is the amount of stairs on this property. If you are traveling with someone who is disabled, or even just have difficulty climbing stairs, this may not be the best choice.
