“3-3.5 Star. Nice Staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

First off, I was/am a bit confused about this hotel. As far as I can tell the Village Hotel is part of the Village at Breckenridge Resort, but just a separate building, with perhaps less impressive rooms, while still giving guests access to the amenities of the other building.? There are two separate trip advisor listings.

Anyways, the initial impression was great. We arrived at 10 a.m. looking to drop off some bags, but the valet parking attendant made it seem like the room might be ready. Sure enough there was a room ready to go, at 10 a.m. That's awesome and much appreciated. The front desk attendant was very polite and courteous. Gave us great advice about where to watch some college football later in the afternoon. Back at valet, another attendant helped us unload the car and a bike and again was extremely courteous. They checked the bike, which was great.

Getting to the room was a bit odd. Walked through a parking garage, but the front of the building opens right to the street. the hallways and interior of the hotel seem a bit dated but nothing terrible. The room itself was in the 3 star range. A double bed, not a queen, couch, coffee table, flat screen tv. The room itself was clean and did the job. The rooms are in my opinion not run-down as some have suggested but they are not pristine either. Perhaps a bit of a dated feel, but nothing terrible. The pictures are accurate. The bed was comfortable with nice AC unit next to it (AC not always a guarantee in ski towns) Free water bottles was nice. Bathroom was alright, nothing amazing, It was accessible I believe.

So in the other building we had access to the gym/pool area. The pool area is nice. Indoor/outdoor pool with four outdoor hot-tubs. Not really any seating though to lay out. I believe there are also more indoor pools in the building we stayed in but we didn't check them out.

The hotel is in an amazing location in Breck. Right in the heart of everything. Definitely a selling point here.

I was disappointed there was a 20$ resort fee. Probably the lowest-level hotel i've seen a resort fee at and perhaps something more expected at the 4 star level. It covers valet parking but still, would be dissapointed on a long stay. Perhaps they should waive this in the Summer. This place definitely doesn't scream "resort."

Overall not bad if you can get a good price. Nice staff and great location.

Room Tip: Got an very good name your own price on Priceline. (summer)

We stayed here for a friend's wedding and luckily got a discount because of that. The staff were super friendly and professional, including everyone from making the reservation to the valet guys. There were 4 of us in the room, which was only a problem when we were all trying to get ready for the wedding (the bathroom is tiny). The location is fantastic, right off Main St on South Park Ave. The directions you receive in your reservation email aren't great- look at a map before you start driving around Breck.

The Village Hotel is located right off Main Street and is within walking distance to historical Breckenridge and all that it has to offer including restaurants, shops and other activities. Kudos to the staff who are the nicest bunch of people - very friendly and helpful. If they say they will get back to you, they do! Our room (5206) was spacious but had no view (overlook a roof with A/C equipment). The bed was comfortable. The room decor (other than the fact that there is a flat screen TV) is dated. The amenities - fitness room, pool and hot tub - are also dated and could use a major rehaul. Overall the location and the fact that the room was acceptable made this an ok stay. Would possibly stay here again but only if out priced by different alternatives.

Nice place to stay, but small. In the off season its quiet but kind of run down outside.
Location is perfect, right in the center of town, close to Main Street. Nice pond nearby and lose to hiking trails and rsturaunts.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thanks for writing a review on our tripadvisor page! We have been doing quite a bit of renovations to the exterior of our property this season. It isn't the prettiest to see but, unfortunately we've got to squeeze it in while the weather holds up before winter is upon us once again!

We hope you consider staying with us again in the future! We appreciate you being our guest!

Best,
Ginny

Could not have been in a better location. Walking distance to everything. The hotel is pretty tired and in need of renovation. Popcorn ceilings, musty smell in our room, peeling wallpaper in places, threadbare carpet. Our door was near impossible to open and the AC/heat unit was possessed. Oddly, there are no curtains in the room, only blinds. You'll know when the sun comes up. The furnishings are nice and everyone was super friendly. There are 3 indoor hot tubs and a pool and hot tub outdoors. The hot tubs close at 10:00pm but we were there well after and noone bothered us. There is no room service or breakfast options. There is a restaurant that opens for dinner. We did not eat there. Far too many choices a short walk from the hotel. Our rate was $109 plus taxes and fees. For that, it was well worth it and we'd stay again.

We stayed here for a wedding nearby. They went out if their way to accommodate us in shuttling us to and from the venue even tho it was later than they normally run. Tyler waited patiently for us to say our goodbyes and was very pleasant on the drive back. Again this morning...customer service. Accommodated a late check out and Jace took us back to pick up our car.
The room was clean, pleasant, and above average for the reasonable price.
Within walking distance to everything.
Will return!!

I use tripadvisor a good deal and am usually rewarded with good experiences. This will be my worst review. The place is fine in general. The service not so much.

While they have parking in the basement of our building you must valet park....always a time waster. The person that checked us in was clearly not emersed in her job. She did not explain the wifi (the speed is unusable), and gave very poor directions to our room.

One thing I got a chuckle out of was that they automatically have you "donate" $1.00 per day to some Eco fund or you must opt out by signing a waiver at check in. I have never seen that in my life. Why not just build it into the room fee....very odd. Just kind of sets an strange tone. Nothing like putting your guest on the spot right out of the box. Kind of "would you like to donate or be a jerk", if so sign here. PS, I was a good boy and gave donation!

We have never stayed here before and will not next trip. Not a bad place just kind of not pleasant.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time for writing a review on our tripadvisor page. Just an explanation in regards to the National Forest donation. Vail Resorts has a partnership with the National Forest Foundation. Since we manage mountains and properties on their land, the donation is a way to continue that partnership and take care of our natural environment. Every dollar that is donated by our guests, the National Forest Foundation matches by 50 cents. I apologize if it wasn't explained properly at check in. It is in no way an obligation that we require. Not donating is perfectly fine.

if you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to us directly!
Sincerely,
Ginny
