Emma, Niels, and Buddy (their sweet Labrador) were wonderful hosts. They are attentive, helpful, and personable. The location of the inn is nice for skiing. The (free) bus stops a very short walk from the inn--easily doable in ski boots. The bus route ends steps from the gondola in one direction, and steps from the peak 9 lift in the other direction. Both are short bus rides.

Emma bakes a delicious pastry daily for afternoon tea, which was lovely to come back to after a day of skiing. Niels' breakfasts were nourishing, tasty, and sustained us through a day of skiing.

Our rooms (2) were a nice size with plenty of storage, and clean. The beds were comfortable, and warm. There was a thermostat in each of our rooms so we could control the temperature. There were enough accessible outlets to charge our electronics.

My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Abbett Placer Inn! The innkeepers, Niels and Emma, prefer guests to stay for at least two nights on weekends (which is understandable), but my girlfriend and I wanted to get away to the mountains and only had one night to spare. They were very accommodating, understood our constraints, and allowed us to stay for one night. We greatly appreciated their flexibility.

All the details at the Inn were great. We stayed in the "Settlers Saloon" room, which was a western-themed room that was very cute and comfortable. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the room was perfectly cleaned and well decorated. The room had a little extra privacy as well, as it was separated from the hallway by two doors, which made us feel very comfortable and isolated. The Inn has a "tea time" every evening and when we were there, they served a delicious chocolate cake. The Inn has everything you could want for a getaway - great rooms, friendly innkeepers, great breakfast, tea time, a hot tub, wine glasses and dishes, tons of information about Breckenridge, and even a long list of free DVDs to check out! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Emma and Niels had great recommendations for food and were very friendly and happy to recommend activities in the area. Breakfast in the morning was excellent -- bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast. Buddy the chocolate lab, their incredibly sweet and friendly dog, was a nice touch to the experience as well.

The chances are good that any time you are greeted at the front door of a B&B by a smiling chocolate Lab, your stay will be just fine.

My wife and I stayed at this very nice, colorful Victorian B&B with the excellent flower garden as a means of decompression from my job in the Middle East. It is located on a quiet street in "Breck" and is easy to find. It is also just a few minutes walk to town. We stayed in the Peaks Panorama Suite, which has a private deck that looks directly at the peaks, hence the moniker. The room was clean, sunny and airy, the bed comfortable. The owners gave us a key to our room but I seriously doubt you need it, and we were met (along with Buddy) with smiles when we checked in.

Breakfast was good and there was no shortage of anything. I snuck Buddy a bite.

We especially appreciated the Abbett Placer's location in town and how effortless it is to get to and from the B&B from the main drag, with all its restaurants, shops and the Riverwalk (make sure you take the Riverwalk). We also took the gondola up to the top of the runs; look for moose and other critters.

Buddy will be waiting for you.

Room Tip: Bring a Milk Bone for Buddy.

This was such a cute, little property in beautiful Breckenridge. Your hosts are amazing, the breakfasts were delicious and the location was perfect. You are about a block and a half from Main Street allowing for privacy and quiet, but also right near the action if that's what you want. The gardens were gorgeous! The only drawback we had was the bathroom. We stayed in the "romantic nook" which was really nice, but for the very small bathroom and tiny shower. It was nearly impossible to stay in the shower for my SO and me (and we are both exceptionally small people!) . . . so if that's important to you, perhaps stay in one of the other rooms.

My wife and I stayed at the Abbet Placer Inn in June when we were on vacation and we could not have been more pleased. The innkeepers, Niels and Emma, were so helpful during our three day stay, they made it feel like a home away from home. They both gave us great advice for things to do during the day and Emma was particularly helpful with directions for the next leg of our trip further out into Colorado.

We stayed in the Peaks Panorama Suite which I would highly recommend if it is available. The bathroom is a little small but the room is big and the view of the mountains from the private deck are amazing! The inn is walking distance from almost everything there is to do in Breckenridge. We parked our car out front when we got there and didn't move it again until we left, and we saw a lot of different places. And, last but certainly not least, the breakfast is outstanding. Niels was a chef in Virginia before they moved out there and it shows in the great dishes they have. And they had a choice of three different meals each day so you could get what you really wanted.

One thing to note, they have a policy of no shoes in the house. We have the same policy in our house so we were absoultely fine with that. They will offer you clean slippers to wear during your stay or you can bring your own. I have seen a couple of people complain about it, which is absurd, but it's good to know in advance.

Room Tip: Peaks Panorama has a private deck and beautiful views of th emountains.
