Cedar Townhomes
Reviewed 3 January 2013

I stayed in unit 53 with my husband, son and a family friend. Most of us had never been skiing before and did not want to deal with the hassle of shuttles and getting to the slopes. This location, a VERY short walk to the lifts of peak 9 was key. The ski school was located there and peak 9 is great for beginning skiers. Our unit was a 3 bedroom but can easily sleep 6. The master suite is large and comfortable with a nice shower bath attached (no tub). The second bedroom is a double. The third has bunk beds. The second and third bedrooms share a small bath on the second floor. The first floor consists of a sunken living room w/ a large comfy couch and a couple of chairs. The kitchen is midway up and is fairly standard. There is also a small half bath on that level. There is a sun room off a fairly large dining area (seats 6) where the hot tub is. This private hot tub was brand new and great! Over all the condo is not an upscale luxury type of place but for the price and location I was very pleased. Some minor issues: garage door opener didn't work, kitchen faucet could not be adjusted to jet, only one TV ( though I personally liked that the kids were forced to come out of bedroom), second shower knob needs repair, there was no way to use a hair dryer in master bath( they should put a mirror by the outlet in the bedroom to compensate ).
Other wise we had a great stay and would not hesitate to return. If you want a "hotel " experience we met some people who stayed at the village condos who liked it. We liked the price, being able to cook our meals (even coming home for lunch was super easy), and a lot of room for a family was great. Our private hot tub at the end of a day skiing could not be beat.

I stayed in no 16 cedars in March 2011 with friends and children. I can only say that this location would be hard to beat. You come out of your unit take a few steps and you are on the slopes. These units are a few years old and yes may need a LITTLE updating to my taste, but we had every thing needed to have a fab holiday. They were clean/very spacious/ comfortable and well equiped, cannot really complain about anything. Some of the units have been updated and look fab, we are staying at cedars again this year in a different unit so will be interesting to see if this is as good as our last stay. Its a shame that maybe a few other units give the rest a bad name.I would recomend these townhomes for location and recomend unit 16 to anyone.

The two-bedroom condo we stayed in was reasonably priced, but hadn't been properly cleaned. The owner/manager was not in town, so that is a disadvantage. The location was the best feature. Also, having a garage was a plus. The furniture, carpet, bedding should be updated in keeping with high standards. I'd love to find a Cedars condo that has been renovated so that I could stay there again. There's no hot tubs either. Having 2/5 baths was nice. The kitchen was a nice size, but getting off the couch was a challenge since it was really worn out. I would recommend the unit if people didn't have really high expectations of a high-end condo.

The location is convenient, steep out the door on onto the quicksilver lift. Very close to the Village, the Maggie, and Main Street. However the facility is dated and in need of repairs. We stayed in Unit 5, and the casing was falling off all the doors and windows, and window/ceiling/wall in the family leaked like a sieve. You could not sit on the couch in the family room with out having melting snow from the roof or upstairs baloney shower you. Called property management and they didn’t seem concerned. For the same money I would recommend staying in the Village or Main Street Station.

Ok so why the low score.. Have been staying at this Condo for the last seven years. The good, Location, Location, Location, just put your skis and go down to Quicksilver and ski right into the unit. Space, you can not beat a three bedroom, four full baths for under $400..the bad, units were built in the 70's and are stuck there...all of them...with very, very, few exceptions. Maid service non existent.. still the convenience can not be beat..
