“Amazing view, great units”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We've stayed at Gold Point Resort several times over the years, and it is a great property in so many ways. The condo units have everything you could need, and are huge. This is a very well maintained property at the top of the mountain, at 10,000 feet. The view is just incredible, especially at sunset. Each building has five units, and each building has one hot tub. There is no pool, but Gold Point gives you free passes for the Breckenridge Rec Center down in town. WiFi service works really well, as did our cellphones. Our only suggestion: get better beds! We would definitely come back for another stay.

Room Tip: They all have a great view. Three bedroom units are very large and spacious.

Green Features: Fine. They have recycling and the toilets are water saving.

Dear Pueblochick,

Thank you for sharing your kind review!

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, especially our WiFi service and access to the Breckenridge Recreation Center. We are happy to share that many of our units will begin receiving new mattresses this coming fall! As this project will be completed in phases, we will also maintain an inventory of mattresses and are happy to replace any substandard beds upon request.

Again, thank you for sharing your review and we hope to see you at Gold Point Resort again soon!

We just spent a week in Breckenridge, and my parents traded a time-share to stay here at Gold Point. When we first checked in, it was great. There's a garage to park your vehicle, there are two levels, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, great outside patio that's raised (only accessable by your own place) with a GREAT view of Breck and the mountain. There is free wi-fi which worked great. Cell reception was very iffy unless you were outside on the patio. You were only 3 miles from the center of Breck and all the activities. There is a washer/dryer combo, but it's small. They also provide enough soap, towels, dishwasher cleaner, sacks. You also can rent DVDs there, I think for free, and you get free passes to the Breck rec center, which saves like $15 per person. The unit was very clean.

What was not great: The master bedroom bed was nice, a queen, but one of the downstairs queen beds was hard as a rock. My wife couldn't wait to get back to our bed, which is only marginal. The two twin beds in the 3rd bedroom were ok. The main tv was fine, but the two tv's in the queen bed, bedrooms, were really out of date and small (but you're not there to watch tv, obviously, but when it helps you go to sleep, it's nice to have a decent tv). If you sleep downstairs, you WILL KNOW when people are awake and moving upstairs. the creaking and the noise was loud when people were moving upstairs. I'm not sure if this is because of the extreme temperature changes up there and wood warping and changing or what, but it's very noticeable.

Would i stay there again? Yes. There were enough good points to outweigh a few of the bad. And the view each morning and evening was amazing. I loved the space of this place. There were 6 of us, and we were never crowded, unless we all tried to be in the kitchen area at once. I am not sure of the cost of this place, as we did a time-share trade, so it would be hard to say if this place has value over another place. But as a time-share trade, it was a very nice place.

Dear Brian G,

Thank you for taking the time to share your review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed many elements of your stay, especially our breath taking views.

We recognize that there is always room for improvement and appreciate your suggestions. Though I cannot comment on your specific unit, we are anxious to begin replacing many of our mattresses this fall. While this project will be done in phases, we do maintain an inventory of new mattresses and are happy to replace any mattresses that are not up to standard should we need to do so.

We also understand that the new tile floor in the dining room allows noise to disrupt those sleeping downstairs much easier than our old carpet flooring. To alleviate this, we are in the process of installing felt pads on the bottom of each and every chair. While this will not eliminate all of the noise, we have noticed a dramatic improvement by doing just this.

As you mentioned, the bedroom televisions are nice to help you fall asleep, but must admit that we placed a higher priority on replacing all of the living room televisions first. Now that we have replaced all of our living area televisions with modern flat screens, we look forward to replacing the bedroom televisions in the coming years.

Again, thank you for sharing your review and we hope to see you at Gold Point Resort again soon!

We enjoyed this 3 bedroom unit very much. Everything you could want was there. We had guests visit us there and they were very impressed too. It had a wonderful view and not far from Breckenridge. Would stay there again!

We stayed in a 3Br/3Ba townhouse the first week of June, in 6C. I would not recommend the lower unit, as all we heard were the chairs being dragged across the tile floor. It was VERY loud. And the people walking above us sounded like they had cement feet. I don't know if it was them, or just poor insulation in the aging units. Made for very unrestful vacation.

Upon arrival, the TV was not working, so we called, and Sarah came to try and help us out. She was very nice, and always friendly. She was unable to fix it, and sent the manager. If you have any issues, questions or problems, you had better get them in between 9am-5pm (and maintenance leaves at 4:30). ALL office staff leave at 5, on the DOT! Our dryer was not working from the start. I tried calling, but, being on vacation, we planned rafting etc. We needed to be gone before 9, and would get back after 5 often. I tried calling the on-call person, they said they would leave a message, to get back to us first thing. NOPE! I finally stayed in to try and talk to someone, after drying my laundry on the balcony. Sheryl, at the front desk, said "maintenance was short-staffed, and would get to it later". I told them to come in while we were gone, leaving them a detailed note.
Long-story short, they are happy to take your money to get you in there, but the place is old, and needs work!
I own in a 5 star resort. They do not work on the same MO as this place. I asked for D/W detergent, as we kept getting back after hours, and they had given me laundry detergent wrongly on the one day I was there, which I don't use, they gave us ONE, and told us if we wanted more, we had to PAY for it! Sheryl SLAMMED the price list for everything onto the counter when I tried to explain that they had given us the wrong detergent. Unacceptable!
We had 2 humidifiers in the room with burnt cords. We called to let them know, as we did not want them thinking we had done it. Why would they put something like that back into a room??
A broken ice-cream scooper in the drawer. The list just went on. :(
We definitely won't be returning. The view was nice, but the people were not, and there certainly are plenty of other places to stay! The maintenance men that came the night before we left to try and help me with the dryer were very nice, but it was a little to late at that point. I appreciated the effort, but it was just too much. (and I stayed behind, while my family went out, so I could get our clothes dry to go home!) RUN, to another hotel or condo!

Dear CSUN2,

Thank you for sharing your review with the Trip Advisor community. While we wish we would have been able to provide you with a wonderful experience, we do certainly value the feedback you have been able to provide us with.

As you noted, our front desk is open Saturday – Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Our Engineering staff is also on property at 8:00 AM until approximately 4:30 PM. Outside of those hours, we do have our Resident Manager who lives on property. While he is not an expert technician, he does strive to address any issues within his skill set immediately. When he is unable to completely solve a problem, he does relay the issue to the appropriate department. While we recognize that this may not be an ideal scenario, we must act with respect to our fiduciary obligation to the Gold Point Resort Homeowners Association.

It is for much the same reason that Gold Point Resort does charge for additional amenities during your visit. We do provide a starter package so our guests can get settled into the units in comfort. Our starter package includes coffee, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, soaps and shampoo, and many other items. We are always exploring new ways to provide these services in a better manner and hope that we will soon be able to provide better amenities while respecting the guidelines our Homeowners Association has established.

We must also apologize for the noisy chairs you experienced. During our recent renovations, we did install tile in the dining rooms, which were previously carpeted. We did not anticipate the noise that would result from chairs being moved along the tile, but are working to install pads on the bottom of each and every chair to reduce this noise. Unfortunately, the first product we utilized wore threw quickly and exposed a nail to the floor, which made the situation worse. Never the less, we continue looking for a product that will reduce the noise that passes between units.

Ultimately, I must also apologize for the substandard service you experienced during your stay. It is my personal expectation that each and every member of our team will do anything they can to make your stay more enjoyable at all times. I was unfortunately out of the office during your visit, but you can rest assured that we expect better from all members of our team.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your review. While we were not able to provide you with a great vacation, we do hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future so we may regain your trust and confidence. If you have any further questions or suggestions, I am available at the number below.

We are visiting Breckenridge on the off season and have found it most enjoyable. The condo itself is very nice and roomy for our family of five. Two bedrooms on lower level great to have the kids stay in. The kitchen is nicely stocked and has impressive appliances. Our view is absolutely breath taking. Definitely will come back again!

This is the third time I've had the pleasure of staying at my friend's 3 bedrooms, 3 bath, timeshare condo located on the mountain directly facing the Breckenridge Ski Area. This wonderful condo included everything you could want in a vacation rental, two large bedrooms located on the first floor with another on the second floor, main living area. A gas fireplace provided warmt and ambience. Best of all was sharing this with friends and family. Always a great week of skiing and reconnecting with my Colorado friends and family.

Room Tip: All condos face the Breckenridge Ski Area, and they all have easy access to the free bus transportat...

Our 3 bedroom/3 bath condo was huge and nicely furnished. The views are spectacular, especially the morning the full moon was shining over the ski slopes! Easy to get to town and the slopes, although in bad weather you might need a 4WD vehicle..the condo is at a high elevation, up a steep mountain road. Gabby at the desk was very helpful with restaurant tips.

Room Tip: The three bedroom penthouses are spectacular!

Dear mammoth56,

Thank you for sharing your kind review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, especially the wonderful views of the Breckenridge Ski Resort and Ten Mile Range.

Though we are situated over 1,000 feet above Main Street, the town does a tremendous job keeping the main road to Gold Point open! While most vehicles will be able to reach us most of the time, if you are traveling during the winter, it will never hurt to have a four wheel drive vehicle.

Again, thank you for sharing your review and we hope to see you again soon!
