Directions from town were excellent. The lodge smelled fresh and "outdoorsy" like pine. The staff was very pleasant as were all guests. We took our dog and everyone was very accepting and kind. We liked being away from the town in a more peaceful atmosphere. Great escape from the heat!

We stayed 7/18/2011 with our dog, Sparky, and our experience was fantastic...all the way around.

We liked the fact that this lodge is located above the town and away from the hub-bub and noise. Secluded, but just a short drive to restaurants, etc.

The staff were friendly & very helpful. The views were incredible & the lodge common areas were warmly & comfortably decorated. I did not see signs of carpet wear that a previous reviewer mentioned (and I'm pretty picky about hotels!).

Our room was well appointed and, again, the views were amazing. It was nice to be able to open a few windows & let the cool, mountain air into the room. We liked the rustic, beams on the ceiling and the carpeting was spot-free. The bed was cozy and we did not hear any noise from other hotel guests; even though they had a full house that night. The bathroom was very nice with vintage-style tile throughout. Clean, clean, clean.

I often get an icky, must-keep-my-shoes-on feeling in hotel rooms, but NOT in this lodge. It was far superior to most. VERY comfortable.

Breakfast was good, with more variety than most hotels offer these days. The dining room is very pleasant with seating by large windows overlooking the mountains.

The only thing I wish this hotel would offer is in-room WI-FI. Other than that, this lovely lodge has it all! We will be back!

I'll sum up my review with... WOW!

Room Tip: A mountain-view room is the way to go! Truly spectacular!

We brought along our dog, Bailey and had a wonderful time. The staff was very welcoming.
The dining room is beautiful. The deck and hot tubs are very relaxing. Great hiking nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balconey.

My family stayed at the Lodge because we wanted a quiet, serene place with great views of the mountains and free breakfast. The mountain views were spectacular and the free breakfast was good. The truth about the Lodge accommodations are as follows: The room looked better on the web site than in person, our room smelled of dogs, I kept the window open the entire time we stayed at the Lodge for fresh air, very noisy place, people above us pounded around day/night(not sure what they were doing in their room). Bathroom sink was cracked and tile needed to be re grouted, the tub didn't drain well. The hot tubs were very old, cracked, the back jets didn't work, the seat jets half-way worked. The deck was in need of repairs such as re-staining, some of the nails holding the deck boards down were raised up and you could trip/hurt your toes/foot on them if you weren't careful. Decks were old and faded. The carpet throughout the Lodge was old and worn in some places. Overall, the Lodge is in need of repairs. I will not stay here again and will not recommend this place. There are many other nice places to stay in Breckenridge that cost less, have great views and aren't as old, run down and worn out as the Lodge.

Loved being 'off the beaten path' and seeing wildlife as we would drive the few minutes to and from Main Street/Breck. This is Colorado at its best - even though almost any hotel/condo in Breck has great views, etc., you are right in the midst of Mother Nature at the Lodge. Sitting in the hot tub and enjoying the still snow covered peaks was the perfect way to end the day. Karen was very helpful in making reservations, answering questions and taking care of business overall. The continental breakfast was definitely better than most; though it was lacking on protein, you could make your own waffles. Wi Fi was not available in rooms but getting online in the welcoming great room in front of the fireplace while sitting in a comfy couch or rocker worked out just fine.
