This is an area where some of the largest, and most complete, dinosaur fossils were found in the late 1800's, and that now reside in some of the famous museums out East. There is plenty of information about this area in downtwon Canon City as well on the internet.
They didn't clutter this place up with a lot of interpretive signs which is a good thing. This is also the site of the famous Cope and Marsh dinosaur wars. If you, or your kids, have any interest in dinosaurs then this is a neat place to visit. It's likely that some of the dinos you might see in a museum came from this place.
