“Fantastic Views but scary drive!”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

Just outside Canon City you see an innocuous looking gate and road: Skyline Drive. The views are spectacular on both sides of the car, because most of the ride is along a knife-edge drive just wide enough for one car. You have to stop to look around, because you can't take your eyes off the road whle driving. If you meet a hiker or biker you have to stop and pass very slowly. I drive a lot of narrow country roads back east, but this one-way, narrow lane (driveway width) with no guardrails or curbs was quite nerve-wracking!

“Great Location for Geocaching”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

Not for faint of heart drivers, that's for sure. Narrow lane throughout the entire drive which adds to this unique location. We located a few caches on an afternoon geocaching run to the Canon City area and had a terrific time enjoying the beautiful views.

“Incredible Drive With Amazing Views!”
Reviewed 28 August 2013 via mobile

I rode Skyline Drive with four other motorcycle friends and had a great time! We were there just after 10am on a Saturday, and there were only a few other people up there (a family with little kids, two guys walking, and three people with a small truck).

The road seems simple at first, then it gets more intimidating the higher you climb. It is wide enough for a van or SUV, but you need to keep your eyes on the road and watch what you're doing.

I believe there are at least three turnouts where you can park and take pictures, and the views are spectacular. If you do come up here with small children, you absolutely must watch them 100% of the time. There are no safety rails to prevent injuries.

Even with that in mind, it is still an incredible place and well worth a visit! Highly recommended for a motorcycle ride as well!

“Great free activity”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Always a thrill. Stop at the top & take pictures if you have time. Except for the gas, there's no charge, so how can you miss? Just don't drive over the edge...it's a long way down. :)

“Skyline Drive by Harley”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

This road was at the end of an 18 day trip, We've already done the Million Dollar Highway, Mt Evans, and Pikes Peak so I was not concerned. This road was the scariest of all. It is very short, one way, shear cliffs and drop-offs, no guardrails, but so narrow with gravel scattered here and there with hairpin turns that before it ends you start to wonder, Should I be Doing This. The answer a defiant YES, in fact do it twice!
