We were just driving down Main Street in Canyon City, Colorado & saw a little art gallery & decided to stop in there. After the art gallery, we saw the little cafe next door & decided to stop in for lunch. Not only was the food very good, the service was even better. We ordered the daily special which was 2 eggs, biscuits & Gravy, potatoes & chicken fried steak with a drink for under $10. The food was fresh tasting & was on our table in minutes. My husband commented on almost every bite how good the food was & it takes a lot to impress him. After our meal we asked the waitress if she knew of any place we should go in Colorado as this was our first trip here. She said she was from California & didn't really know of any place to send us yet, but she would get one of the other people that worked there to suggest a place for us to go. The entire restaurant ended up talking to us & giving us suggestions. There was a couple behind us & a couple across the way that also gave us information. But the best part of this is the owner went into his office & printed out a map for us to follow & called a few places to find things for us to do. He took about 10 minutes out of his busy schedule just for us. Then stood outside the restaurant with another person & made sure we knew where we were going. So if you are looking for good food & above & beyond service, you need to stop in this cafe. If we ever get back to this area, we will for sure stop in.

Based on a referral from our B&B we tried the Good Thyme Café for lunch before our trip on the Royal Gorge Railroad. Service was very good, smiling wait staff, complete lunch menu. Tried the "Raton wrap" and was not disappointed. Hubby was equally please with the Reuben. Very affordable. We found ourselves in Canon City for a second day and returned for a repeat performance. Again, good food, great service. Very interesting artwork. Had a very pleasant conversation with the Owner?/chef? who provided us with some interesting local color and stories.

We tried every place in Canon City for breakfast and after finding this place, there is no reason to go anywere else! The food is fresh, the lattes are great and the people are very friendly! The picture they have on this site must be from the back, because thats not what the front of the resturant looks like.I'll mention it to them next time I go..and we go alot! Did I mention...the even make their own butter!

We walked here from our hotel for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the great menu. My boyfriend and I both ended up choosing the vegetarian bene, and we both loved it!

The employees were friendly and attentive. One of them, possibly the owner, came to our table as we were finishing up and chatted with us about where we were from and where we were going. He ended up recommending a side trip to an unusual little "castle" in the mountains, and he even printed out pictures and directions for us! It was very helpful, and we enjoyed that trip.

This cafe is on Main St., which is very cute, and I would recommend stopping in here for breakfast.
