Would highly recommend staying at Boutique Bungalows, it's a very tranquil piece of paradise in a rainforest setting. There are only 3 cabins which are all very private and spaced well apart. Even though the cabin has airconditioning, we never used it, as was lovely to have the windows (which are screened) open at night to hear the sounds of the wildlife. Sharon and Steve are outstanding hosts , and certainly make your visit memorable with an amazing breakfast by the pool, and delicious homemade afternoon tea delivered to your cabin. It is a credit to their hard work, to recover after the devastation to their property during cyclone Yasi.
Pros... Beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean cabins
Sparkling pool
Private rainforest garden
Full buffet breakfast
Homemade afternoon tea
Free Internet
Visiting wildlife
Great location (close to beach)
Cons.. Having to leave!
Would also recommend eating at Millers Bar and Grill who have a courtesy pick up and drop off..try the Bling Bling cocktail. We did a sunset cruise on Big Mama sailing which was fantastic, and good value at $65 for 2.5 hrs. Make sure you watch the skydivers landing on the beach (approx. on the hour, every hour) it is truly awesome...and free!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rainforest Bungalow which is at the back, but they are all fantastic!

Getting to the bottom of my to do list. Must thank Steve and Sharon for a lovely stay. Room was great, pool was very nice and it was great to meet all the orphans. Wallaby's abound around the neighborhood. Hope you enjoyed the maple syrup. We saw a cassowary along the road about a kilometer from your house. We went to the beach to see one but they were not to be found that day. We will hopefully be back some day. Good luck with the critters.

We stayed here on our last two nights before flying home. As it was the end of our trip we were ready to relax and couldn't have picked a better place. The bungalows are beautiful, very spacious and quiet. The pool area was great. Breakfast was very tasty and the chance to hold the rescued wallabies was definitely an added plus. Steve and Sharon were very helpful with suggesting ideas of things to do in the area. We were really hoping to see a cassawary during our two week stay in the area and were disappointed to be leaving without seeing one. Sharon suggested a spot to stop on our drive back up to the airport... and we saw THREE! We were beyond thrilled, thank you Sharon!!

We were lucky enough to stay here in February 2013. Upon arrival it became apparent that I had made an error with the dates I had booked. Steve assured us this wasn't a problem and luckily our room was available! Our room was spacious, had everything we needed, was amazingly clean and we were given home made afternoon tea on both days. The breakfast is amazing, lots of fresh fruit, pancakes and a very very good eggs and bacon. We spent time by the gorgeous swimming pool and also hand fed baby wallaby Angie. Steve and Sharon gave us lots of tips on places to go, places to eat, even things to see and do on our way to Port Douglas! They look after various animals that have been orphaned or injured with a view to releasing them back into the wild and are very knowledgeable about local wildlife. This is a small, relaxed, beautiful resort and we were sad to leave. We would highly recommend this place to anyone going to mission beach. We will definitely be back - thank you Steve and Sharon!

We arrived at Boutique Bungalows after a lenghty trip from Magnetic Island and were instantly relaxed! Steve and Sharon were there to meet us with freshly baked banana bread & help us to our bungalow.
The bungalows themeselves were excellent, very clean and had everything we needed and more for a really great stay.
After a lovely dip in the swimming pool we went to Scotty's a restaurant recommended to us by Steve and Sharon to enjoy friendly company and great food.
We booked the accomodation to be near the Tully rafting and I would highly recommend it to anyone with similar plans or that simply want to get away from it all
