“One of the few”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Stayed here for a week in late July. The accommodation was large enough for our small family, well-equipped and very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and shopping centre a few kms away. Off-street parking, cheap and handy washing facilities, and a lovely design which shields from the main road yet positions you within 20 seconds walk to the beach makes this a blissful stay. The two people who run it are their real assets. Kerry and Greg are wonderful hosts who embody all that is good about professional hosts and Australian people of the 'Old School'. They made our stay a relaxing family memory and nothing was too much trouble for them. When we left they were temporarily leaving their own spot to stay elsewhere for a short period so a wedding booking would not be ruined! That goes way beyond the call in my book. Wonderful people, wonderful spot.

Wonderful. Such beautiful gardens, lovely chalet, with the best beds ever. Like a balinese bungalow, with lush tropical gardens that provided privacy and peace.
Keri and Greg are such characters and super friendly. It is self contained, with everything you need if you want to stay in and dine out in the your own Lanai or just Chill-ax on the day bed..
Lovely pool, and right across from the beach overlooking Dunk Island.

Room Tip: Theyre all the same. Any one is of equal value

As part of our trip up to see the eclipse, we stayed for a night at the shores. Brilliant service, lovely clean comfortable studio, such a comfortable bed, fluffy towels and so close to bar restaurants.

Kerri and Greg were delightful, I felt like we had stayed at a friends place, not a hotel. I am looking forward to staying for longer next time.

A warm welcome from the Managers Kerry and Greg ( think that was their names). Lovely clean chalets. Had everything you require including a nice private terrace area and electric bbq outside. Also private offstreeet parking for each unit. There are 4 units among the rain forest each with seperate paths. A great place to relax for a few days. Free internet was also a great plus. The wireless box was rebooted twice a day which seemed to ensure the wireless was working. Also a shared washing machine dryer and sink was available. $3 per wash. The Small swimming pool was perfect to fall in at the end of the day and kept very clean. Also we were still able to swim in the sea and Wongaling beach opposite and the water was 30c (had a pool thermometer to check). We took the ferry to Dunk Island which was also very interesting with our picnic lunch, Resort closed and area private but still able to do the rainforest walk and swim snorkle. Good to see Dunk before being developed again. Stayed 3 nights and wish we had longer and still more to do and see in the area. 3 great restaurants 200m up the road. Just need to check at the restaurants which days they are opened. Highly recommended and would stay again if in the area. We had a car so everything was easy including shopping at the new Woolworths. Also petrol purchased here.

We just spent a very lovely four nights at Mission Beach Shores. It's the perfect place to stay if you want somewhere private, comfortable, and chilled out. There are four lovely bungalows, each very well furnished and equipped, and tastefully decorated in a "Balinese" style. We especially liked the outdoor eating / snoozing area at the front of the bungalow. All four bungalows are well separated by a lovely tropical "jungle" garden, ensuring great privacy. There is a shared pool, and shared laundry facilities.

The place is run by a lovely local couple, who were very warm and welcoming. They don't stay onsite, but live nearby, and there's a courtesy phone to call them if you need anything. We were lucky enough to have the place completely to ourselves for the first two nights, and didn't even see the other guests when they arrived.

The site is directly across the road from the lovely Wongaling beach - great swimming, and hardly anyone else there. There are three restaurants nearby, but it is a solid 10-15 minute walk to the supermarket and other shops. We felt a little limited without a car, but overcame this by renting some bikes to explore on. This gave us access to some great jungle hikes, plus the actual Mission Beach town a few kms away.

The perfect place to stay if you want to relax and unwind. Highly recommended!

Firstly we wish to thank you for your most welcome comments. At Shores we try to work to four main principles: To provide the maximum comfort and relaxed environment for our guests.
To create an atmosphere that is conducive to ensuring that guests will be happy to return to Shores at a future time.
To provide, in our small way, an adjunct to the natural beauty of the Mission Beach Area.
To see people who arrive as guests depart as friends.
At all times, your comfort is our pleasure.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights in our very comfortable and attractively decorated bungalow. The warm and friendly demeanour of the manager of the property further enhanced our stay. Our bungalow was one of four, with palms and ferns providing a relaxed ambience and privacy. The very beautiful Mission Beach is located across the road, but cannot be seen from the property. The fact that there were no views was initially disappointing, however, the benefits of this delightful accommodation soon negated that. We enjoyed dinner out on 2 occasions, at the nearby Nana Thai restaurant and also at the Millers Beach Bar & Grill. Both very good. A large Woolworths supermarket is also nearby. We enjoyed several walks in the rainforest and were pleased to see one of Australia's endangered birds, the Cassowary, which is very protected around MIssion Beach. l highly recommend Shores as a great place to stay.
