“Wonderful Cottage & location and dog friendly”
Reviewed 29 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Wonderful cottage, stunning views with loads of walks and areas to see. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with our dog in the cottage which was really spacious and had everything you need inside. We will definitely be back for longer next time.

“Superb cosy cottage with ample parking for 2 cars.”
Reviewed 21 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Excellent location with a fantastic view of the hills and also the village of Wanlockhead below ,the cottage itself is modern/clean , spacious, really warm and cosy so would be ideal in all seasons.Plenty of hills to walk and high tarmac road access to higher hills for cyclists also .Although no internal wi-fi and poor no mobile reception there is a handy pub ( wanlockhead inn) which has free wi-fi and also serve good food . There is local shop a mile away in Leadhills for day to day groceries and Sanquhar ( 8 miles away ) for larger shops like Nisa, co-op and takeaways etc.

Great communication and hospitality from Karen , hope to visit again soon.

“Beautiful location, friendly locals and VERY quiet.”
Reviewed 15 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We stayed at the lodge as it is near the location for gold hunting.
So pleased we chose the Mountain Lodge, it's absolutely perfect and both my wife and I said we'd not hesitate coming again and even went so far as to check out the possibility of buying a property in the village.

We would RECOMMEND ANYONE to stay at the Lodge given the chance .
We also enjoyed relaxing in the evening playing some of the games provided at the lodge, was also pleased to see the TV had HDMI ports to hook up the tablet.

Only problem is the WIFI in the area,if you want internet access I suggest a walk down to the Lead Mining Museum - they have WIFI running 24hrs.

“Cosy, quaint and peaceful ..........thank you”
Reviewed 28 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Wonderful quiet location. Mountain Lodge had everything we needed for our week stay, it is well equipped and warm. The weather was lovely so we enjoyed some local walks in the village too and met with genuinely friendly local residents at the pub.

Plenty of info about local sites to visit. There is no wifi at the lodge or mobile reception for about a 5 mile radius on O2 or EE but we didnt mind.

Karen was in communication promptly from the time of the booking so we recieved directions and access to the key before our trip.

It was such a gift to be so close to nature that we felt truly re energised ......we would love to come back.

Thank you Karen.

“Lovely place to stay, Home form home”
Reviewed 20 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Me and my wife have just returned form one of the best holidays cottages have had been to in a long time, if you are looking for a relaxing break then this is the place for you. We love holidaying in Scotland and been high and low, but this is the most scenic place we have stop in southern Scotland. The property is done to a high standard and feels like a home from home, the locals are very friendly and helpful as is the owners of the cottage. Again this is a must for a family or a couple looking for a taste of Scotland.

Thank you for letting us stop at your lovely cottage.
Regards
Mr & Mrs K Evenson

Having visited and stayed in Wanlockhead and the surrounding villages for over 40 years usually with family we decided to book the holiday cottage, so glad we did!
A lovely holiday cottage perfectly placed overlooking the village of Wanlockhead.
Impressively well equipped. Comfortable, very warm and cosy as we had snow and howling wind during our stay. Definitely will book again.
