Very friendly helpful and efficient lady at the bar who was very good, very quick service but let themselves down on a few things... The house speciality was finished by 2pm, there's no ordering from your table you have to take your place at the bar. and condiments from plastic sachets is all a bit too service station for my liking.
The food was good (lovely beef) - we both had the Sunday roast. Basic details like gravy in your own pot and horseradish sauce that isn't out of a plastic sachet would have massively improved the presentation and enjoyment for relatively little effort on their part.
They had a jazz band playing from about 4pm, and you get the felling it could be a really good place if they just ran the extra quarter mile.
