“Only game in town”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for two nights for a wedding nearby. After checking in went to our room. The room was designated as nonsmoking but had cigarette burns in the carpet. Black mold in the bathroom, dirty vents, peeling paint, stains on bedding and a lack luster maid service. The motel has overgrown weeds and construction equipment scattered about even though we never seen any work taking place. The owner is very friendly but is not happy when guests book through third party sights as booking agents receive a percentage (he told us this). The breakfast was OK with borderline spoiled milk at 7 am. The OJ is watered down and only 4 oz cups provided. I would not stay here again.. stay in Pueblo or keep going.

We stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and kids.I enjoyed the service, room and food.I found the beds very comfortable and after a long days slept well. The room was clean and well equipped with required necessities like internet, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, iron etc.The bathroom had a nice shower which one needs after long days of sightseeing. The kids enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool which i found was heated too for the cooler days.I enjoyed the variety and hot morning breakfast especially the waffles and eggs.I never tried the gym but the kids used the equipment that was available. If you like Chinese food there is a restaurant on site too. Overall i had a pleasant stay and the service, room with amenities surprised and exceed my expectations.I would definitely stay here again or recommend it to others.

Perhaps there is a new manager or they have worked hard to improve, as our experience was very positive. The room was clean, and unlike some motels the lights were actually placed where they could be used to read. We ate supper at the Chinese restaurant on the premises, and had a good meal. Breakfast was very good, with hot scrambled eggs and sausage as well as waffles. The manager was friendly, and we enjoyed the view of the distant mountains from our room and the breakfast room.

It was the only hotel in Colorado City and my Aunt didn't not want to make the drive from Pueblo to the family cabin so we stayed here, unfortunately. The hotel is outdated, falling apart, and not well kept. The first room we received reeked of cigarette smoke. The manager was kind enough to let us move rooms, twice. Our trash cans were never emptied and they gave us too few towels! Skip the breakfast. The milk was spoiled and everything was cold. The pool had lots of unknown icky things floating in it.

We left lat from Albuquerque and were extremely tired. We saw this hotel and at night it didn't look so bad, but oh no! It was a much different story when we got into our room. When we first walked in we had a gigantic spider on one of our beds. Thank goodness we had lysol so we sprayed our beds, walls, and furniture with it. I awoke to a bug crawling on my arm in the middle of the night. Our room was right next to a door so every time someone entered or excited the hotel door, it sounded like someone was trying to get into our room. In the morning we awoke to a bug in my daughters suitcase, an inch long rolly polly crawling across the floor and a roach running behind our bed. We complained and were told that the hotel is sprayed twice a month-which I don't believe. We paid $89 plus taxes for the room and they ended up giving us a $30 credit, which really wasn't worth it as we didn't sleep well and had to drive to South Dakota.
