This was one of the nicest campgrounds I have been in in terms of how new it is and what amenities it offers. The downside is that privacy is not good at all for the vast majority of the campground, although the tent-only sites are much nicer. Incredibly, each has its own individual water supply, so you can fill your water jugs right at your own site. Nearby bathrooms have flush toilets, electricity, and showers. It's a little unusual for Colorado camping, in that you can see the city and lights of Colorado Springs, and the sites have paved paths, groomed steps, and tent pads with gravel, etc -- a little too artificial and not very rugged at all. On the other hand, it's kind of nice to have it all so easy and close to the city. It's a fun place to stay for a night or two, but if you're looking for a real Colorado camping experience, this is not really it. As my son said, "this is as close to a hotel as you can get while still sleeping in a tent." We had a great time, though, and would happily go back again for another night or two.
