“Gorgeous Views!”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

Great hotel with incredible front row view of the Garden of the Gods rock formations and Pike's Peak in the background. The hotel was very clean with excellent room service and very friendly staff. Strong WiFi signal and newspapers every morning were much appreciated. Definitely a wonderful place to spend a few days as close to nature as you can get in a hotel!

Room Tip: Request to stay on a room that has been renovated.

Room was very spacious with an unbelievable view of the garden of the gods, as the lodge sits directly above the visitor center. Breakfast was wonderful with large panoramic windows to view the park. Excellent customer service and an all around great experience. Very reasonable weekday rates.

The Lodge is an excellent hotel with fantastic views of the Garden of the Gods. It appears to be a 50's style hotel but has been renovated, is very clean and the staff is great. Excellent wifi and wired connection in the rooms is a big plus if you are on a business trip. The rooms are comfortable as are the beds. The conference room also was excellent. Minor negatives were the need for minor upgrades (dated carpet, TV has no menu so you spend much time trying to find shows and it's Comcast??, etc.). Of course you'll be outside anyway unless the weather is bad enjoying the beautiful scenery!

Room Tip: Ask for renovated room with fireplace!

If I could give a 4.5 I would, but the computer won't let me, and that is what it should really get.

After reading the reviews on this property, it just seemed the logical choice as the views and property description seemed spectacular. I must say they were spot on. Just amazing! Get up early and watch the sun come up on the Garden and then light up the mountains in the background. Awesome.

Upon driving up it does have the feel of a 60's style motor lodge; and to be honest as a business traveler, I was a little worried. But, there were about a dozen outlets on the floor for all my accessories, strong Wi-Fi and LAN, and when I needed to scan and email a large document, Stacy and Heather were very accommodating in using the office scanner to help me knock that out. Well done!

Two negative comments if I must...dinner was average; but I would highly recommend the ice cream sundae for desert. Way worth it. My other "negative observation" is that the building I was in was a little dated, and could use a little TLC and paint. But it was very clean, lots of amenities, beds and pillow were really comfy, so more cosmetic than anything else.

Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Stay away from the stair landings. A bit loud.

Recently a friend was looking for a nice place for her mother to stay for a surprise get away.
Since I have stayed at the Lodge in the past, I recommended it. I told her to specifically ask for the remodeled rooms with the fireplace. She booked the room and then checked several times to make sure her mother recieved the correct room.
Unfortunately a mistake was made and the room she was given was not the requested one.
When I stopped by to speak with the manager, he was so accomodating and gracious. Even though he was off to a meeting, he took the time to hear my story. Not only was he sympathetic, he even included the young man at the desk (i am guessing an assitant manager) in the decision of how to amend the situation. So bottom line, they comped the whole night. So kudos to Billy Peterson for great customer service and great management skills.

This was the nicest place we found during our trip to Colorado. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Every detail was you could ask for was found here. The lounge and restaurant was outstanding. Would return for sure.
