Sanctuary of the Rose was so nice. We loved the location of everything we wanted to see. The decor was beautiful and it was so peaceful. We loved being able to keep windows open at night.

Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Staying at the Sanctuary is like staying with friends. You have your own beautiful guesthouse, gorgeous mountain views, a peaceful labyrinth all within minutes of great sights, food and tourist destinations. Ann and her husband were so kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend staying here to anyone!

“Jaw-dropping view”
Reviewed 25 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Wonderful communication from Ann our entire trip. Sent a text early in the day to check in with us about arrival time. Lots and lots of food recs and menus as well. Easy distance to so much to do. Gorgeous view from the guesthouse. We loved everything about our stay and would stay again.

“Like We Were Staying With Close Friends”
Reviewed 22 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Ann, the lovely and very warm landlord of the property, we felt more like we were visiting family or close friends than renting a vacation home from a total stranger. The adobe style guest house, built in 1934, offers charming, peaceful accommodations in a beautiful setting where you can have your morning coffee or tea on a private back patio with views of the Rockies as a backdrop. Afterward, walk the garden labyrinth to help relax your mind and then head out to experience any number of wonderful attractions in Manitou and Colorado Springs which are all in very close proximity to your home base. If that weren't enough, there are plenty of little extras that Ann includes to make you feel right at home. It was certainly among my favorite places that I have ever stayed. If I ever make it back to the area, I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

Liked best: Serene setting and location, special extra touches by Ann, the landlord.
Liked least: Another sink besides the bathroom sink would have been nice to wash dishes, but it certainly didn't hamper our enjoyment of the property.

“A perfect, easy place for a romantic or solo getaway”

The Sanctuary of the Rose was one of the most wonderful places we've stayed in a long time. My partner and I came here to celebrate our engagement, and it was perfect. The space is clean, quiet, simple, and filled with lovely, thoughtful touches. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is well-appointed. The house stayed deliciously cool during the 85+ degree days (and warmed up quickly with the gas fireplace on the one night it got slightly chilly).

Ann provides a great selection of DVDs and books for those wanting to stay in and enjoy the space, as well as delicious coffee and teas (which you can enjoy on the secluded patio behind the house). The labyrinth outside provides a wonderful opportunity for meditation beneath the trees, and we were surprised to find ourselves walking it every morning. This is also a great home base from which to adventure into Manitou Springs, Pike National Forest (including Pikes Peak), and beyond.

Ann was so welcoming and gracious. We will definitely be back!

We celebrated our 13th Anniversary at The Sanctuary of the Rose. We were welcomed with a warm fire and all of the comforts of a home away from home. Ann surprised us with a special anniversary gift with a personal touch that was very thoughtful. The amenities were perfect, the bed was comfortable, and the scenery was beautiful and peaceful. The location a great distance in between Woodland Park, Manitou, and Colorado Springs! We saw it all! What a wonderful way to spend our anniversary!

It was so difficult to leave Sanctuary of the Rose. The accommodations are beautiful, thoughtful, and comfortable. It was extremely easy to make the space my own, and since I was there to write and meditate, it was especially nice not to have to spend time getting comfortable. Ann was kind, helpful, and gave me the space I needed. I absolutely plan to visit again, especially since it is so affordable.
