The owner lady was a legend. She was so nice and gave us a room with a great view of Pikes Peak. Our room was really clean and nicely decorated. There were a lot of hippies around and the location was great, really close to old Colorado springs city which was in walking distance. And garden of the gods was a couple of minutes drive. We can't praise the owner enough, she was so lovely. And it was good value for money.

Booked a room over the phone with WiFi the night before we arrived. We turned up around 4:30pm to find we were booked into a room without WiFi, asked if there was a room available with WiFi and was told there was 1 left and it would costs an extra $7. The room was upstairs above the office, the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and the WiFi didn't work that well.
Room was clean enough and the bed was comfortable.
Not sure I would stay here again

For a planned weekend getaway, we chose to reserve a room at the Garden if the Gods motel, based on the fact that they advertise a heated indoor pool - I actually have pneumonia, so this was very important to me, as I hoped that the warm pool and humidity would be helpful.

We arrived at the motel at 3pm, and were actually pleasantly surprised by the room - it was very clean, and nice, for the price. We hung out in the room for a bit, and then went to an early dinner, with the intention of getting back and spending a few hours relaxing at the pool.

Unfortunately, the pool was FREEZING. I mean, FREEZING. Like not heated AT ALL. It was unbearable - my 6 year old wouldn't even put a toe in, and my husband said NO WAY was he going in. I tried to get in and see if I could "get use" to the temperature, but eventually started literally shivering, and gave it up.

We went back to our room, severely disappointed, and eventually decided to go to the Comfort Inn, where we KNEW we would get what we expected, and what we paid for.

I stopped into the office to drop off our key, and let them know WHY we were leaving - the girl at the desk was very nice, and seemed concerned about the issue, but the man responsible for the pool seemed not to care at all - he didn't even turn around to speak to me face to face -he kept his back turned to me, while he ATE, and simply said the pool was "up to code" :( That's what I call TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

So, in the end, that turned out to be a $60 waste of money (we were "checked in" for just a few hours), and we had to pay an additional $104 for the room at the Comfort Inn - at least IT was 100% worth it!!!

There are many better hotels in the area to be had at similar prices, so please stay there. Please note the following issues in descending order of importance for suck factor:
A. Dynasty era bed, sheets and decor
B. Skylight over my bed (why, I do not know)
C. Original air conditioning unit smelled like burnt paint when engaged
D. Feet from a noisy street
E. Smelled like feet
F. Built next to a busy firestation
G. Masor Jar restaurant is located across the street, which smells and tastes like feet
H. Clerk suggested we eat at the Mason Jar

This was a very nice motel. It is very reasonably priced so don't expect lots of extra frills. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. It is also close to most of the area attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

After looking over the room, we decided to go elsewhere. The rooms are small. The smell in the room was so strong that it was hard to breathe. Appeared dirty and unkept. Ice machine was broken
