I stayed at this hotel for business and found it to be so nice that I chose to stay an extra night for a personal stay and had my husband stay with me. We had a lovely dinner at Springs Orleans and an overall very nice stay at the hotel. The hotel has great character. It's great to see how they incorporated the original building into the feel and look of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Colorado Springs.

Over 4 weeks spent most of the time on business coming and going to Colorado Springs, and stayed at the Mining Exchange the entire time. Nicely appointed rooms, had the Jr. Suite, and very comfortable beds, and lots of space for one person, easily enough room for 2 people or small family. Good service, and original art work in every room. For a personal trip, would rec. also since a very central location in Colorado Springs and can get to most tourist locations easily. Can then return to hotel to eat with many good places to eat within a 2 block walk.
Negatives- small fitness room, good use some more lighting in rooms. No pool or Spa if that is something wanted.

We are extremely picky when it comes to hotels. We have stayed in different ones across the country. We stayed at the Broadmoor during Christmas time and The Mining Exchange Hotel is ten times better! The hotel room and food and service were exemplary and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will stay again, and for longer than our one night getaway. We will recommend this location to our friends and family and perhaps even come with them next time.

Staff very welcoming. First room we were sent to was being painted, but second room across the hall was still quite comfortable with a view of the alleyway, rooftops, and Pike's Peak. Slept great and this room possibly quieter as it was away from the main street, although a jazz band was playing in the alleyway on Saturday night, but we like jazz and they stopped before it was bed-time. $18 a day seemed somewhat excessive, since we could have parked closer to our daughter at Colorado College, walked to the hotel, and spent nothing. However, since the evenings were quite chilly, we paid the fee. Lobby bar and bartender were great and we got to see our home college football team beat Notre Dame, so a big evening plus. To get to the breakfast restaurant, you have to walk across an alleyway, which was quite chilly when we were there. Would not recommend the breakfast food, although the waitress was quite efficient (watery oatmeal, strangely light hollow beignets, weak coffee). Better breakfast places nearby. We had a great sleep and the bathroom facilities were beautiful. Will stay here again.
