“Sweet!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

We missed a flight one Wednesday evening and needed two rooms. I called at 5 pm and checked in at 6. The hotel has beautiful art throughout, modern rooms with deluxe bedding, efficient staff, and an excellent restaurant next door. It's within walking distance of several other restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, etc. I wish I could live there.

We only stayed one night, as were headed up and into the mountains for our trip. I highly recommend this hotel. It has history and is beautifully designed. They have even left some of the old safes in the walls where they would store the gold/money.

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are very modern and exquisite. The front of the house staff was very helpful and courteous.

Room Tip: Our room faced east, so we did not have a view of the mountains.

Everything was great as this hotel, including how the staff handled the Hotels.com screw up with our reservation. We were on our honeymoon and only staying in the hotel for one night and the staff upgraded us to a junior suite, which I highly recommend. The dual shower was awesome and not something you see in a hotel very often. Within 2 blocks of the hotel are excellent coffee shops, an ice cream shop, and a great restaurant called The Rabbit Hole. If you're staying in Colorado Springs and you need to be downtown or you just want to be centrally located, stay at this hotel.

The Mining Exchange is located in downtown Colorado Springs close to many businesses and attractions. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has valet parking which is rather expensive, but there is a very inexpensive parking lot just a block away. I wished they served breakfast as it would have been more convenient, but there is a place a couple of doors down that serves breakfast. The rooms are large, the bathrooms luxurious, and the beds are comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job. If you need to be downtown, this is a good hotel. We got a good rate through TripAdvisor.

Room Tip: Rooms on the East side get bright morning sun. The curtains do a fairly good job of blocking it out.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great experience. Rooms were beautiful, staff members were exemplary. I would return to this hotel or recommend it to others who are staying in Colorado Springs.
