This fascinating living history museum is located right outside the entrance to the Garden of the Gods, and must be overshadowed by its better-known neighbor since their were few visitors the day I was there. But we spent several happy hours visiting an Indian encampment, an early settler's cabin, the first ranch house in the area, and the family's turn-of-the-century "modern" home. We were welcomed, shown around and had interesting discussions with the various people impersonating the original inhabitants at each site. I just wish we could have tasted the buttermilk biscuits the young lady was baking in the old ranch house! They smelled delicious! If you are visiting the Colorado Springs area sights, please save some time for a tour of Rock Ledge Ranch!
