We booked a few months early and were able to get a $150/night rate for a double queen. For that price, this place was great. For anything more than that, this place would be lacking. Our room was clean and had a beautiful view (resort view, but we had a nice view of the mountain from our balcony as well, and we were on the back side of the resort so had the open golf fields and town to look at instead of other resort buildings - room 390 - it was perfect!)
The resort definitely seems older - thin walls (which we didn't notice since we ran the a/c constantly and turned on music most of the time - you may notice pipes but that's how my house growing up was so I didn't mind it at all), old a/c units (dusty, but they were hidden so it didn't matter unless you're looking for something to complain about), not the most beautiful resort exterior of the cabins, but the inside is what matters.
I think this would be a PERFECT location for a family - so many things to do, nice enough to feel safe and clean without the price of a luxury resort, good location. If you're looking for a luxurious, romantic feel, you may be a little disappointed, but we weren't (again, because of the price we paid.)
We had breakfast at the resort restaurant and LOVED it - big portions, cooked well, great flavors - no complaints!
Random note: My straightener caused the smoke detector to go off (there was quite a bit of steam), and maintenance was there within about 3 minutes - we were impressed by their fast response and noted that we'd feel safe in case of a real fire!

Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you're not going to be overly picky and if you can get the book-in-advance rate!

Room Tip: 390 had a great view of the mountain and open resort area without paying for the more expensive view...

Resort is great for an all-inclusive feel. (No meals or drinks are included, but it has that resort feel) One bar and one restaurant in the main building are easily walked to. Also in the main building are several conference rooms, there are no hotel rooms in that main building. All hotel rooms are in other buildings. Lots of pool options. We needed a crib, (free) which we set up in the closet which may sound cruel, but was quiet and dark for baby while we could watch tv and talk. Room was large, had a great view (ordered a back view room but they gave us better) had a tub, toilet, sink in bathroom, plus another sink in closet hall. Great location, quiet residential neighborhood.

An older hotel which has been updated.
Rooms, large and well appointed, super soft bedding with thick featherbed, heavy quilt, crisp sheets. Nice furniture. Thin walls.
Great staff, super nice, friendly.
Food only just ok in both the bar and restaurant (which is mainly a buffet)

Room Tip: Ask to be near main building for restaurant, near golf for golf, etc. view an aerial map to see just...

My wife and I spent time at this resort for a wedding and we were both VERY disappointed. Our room cost $200.00 a night and we were only offered the two queen bed room; for an extra $20.00 we could have upgraded to one king but we decided against it. Upon our arrival we pulled up to the front door of the resort in order to check in. After parking the car, a valet walked up to my wife and I (I wearing a suit and my wife in heels and dress) and instead of asking, he stated "I need you to go park your car in the lot". When I told him that we were there for the wedding and that we were staying the night he stated "That's fine, you still need to park your car". After wanting to freak out on the valet we then got to our room. After getting inside we could not believe how trashy the room was for $200.00 a night. The floor had rocks on it , the tissues were just stuffed back into the box, and there was nothing in the fridge. My wife and I are not big drinkers but it was wierd not having a loaded bar in a room that costs so much. My suggestion to anyone staying in the springs is to save your money and go someplace else.

The resort rooms are very tired and dated. The resort grounds are just beautiful as are the views. Unfortunately it seemed that the resort was not fully opened. For example there was no pool attendant or poolside service. Walls also seem to be very thin as you can hear people walking in hallways and above us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We visited in mid-May intentionally to avoid peak season crowds in Colorado Springs. Weather was variable: 70's when we arrived, snow storm the next day, then slow warm-up to 68 over the course of a week. After a warm welcome in the Lodge and directions to our building (many rooms are in buildings separate from the lodge) we settled into a room with a wonderful view of Cheyenne Mountain and the resort's golf course. We used the rest as a 'base of operations' for trips to many outdoor activities (lots of hiking options in the area) and returned each evening to relax. We thoroughly enjoyed the first evening by fire pit on the Lodge's open air terrace watching the sunset over the mountains and enjoyed drinks from the Will Roger's lounge. The next day it snowed, so we visited the fitness center (wide variety of equipment and options including Crossfit-style equipment) and had a great workout. Dinner in Will Rogers Lounge, and watched Stanley Cup playoff game on enormous projection TV. Mountain View Restaurant was very good for Breakfast and Dinner. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. We recommend this for couples who want a comfortable, relaxing environment. It can be a bit expensive for families if you always eat on the property, but there are plenty of food choices within 5-15 minutes drive. Beautiful scenery.

Room Tip: Recommend being on the top floor. Ask for views facing south or west (Mountains or golf course)

I was at the Cheyenne Mtn Resort for a conference. Yes, this is an older property but I'm not complaining. The views are beautiful and welcoming! My room may have overlooked the parking lot, but it was obscured by aspens (just lovely). The bed, bedding etc. was very top notch and comfortable. I felt very well in the room. Food at the conference was top notch. The hotel added plenty of good touches. The flavored waters in containers in the lobby was thoughtful and pretty. Service from the valet to the front desk was super and all the staff was always ready for a hello. Sometimes NEW is considered to be better, but don't overlook age and wisdom, especially when it works.

The surrounding mountain views from this resort are spectacular. And the resort takes full advantage of them with decks and large windows in their fabulous lobby, restaurant and meeting areas. These are the outstanding parts of this resort. However, the room we were in in the Cripple Creek bldg was small and outdated with a very small balcony. The bathroom needs a major over-haul. The room is really not a 4 or 5 star. more along the lines of an older Holiday Inn. However, the resort landscaping, pool area, firepits, restaurant and deck areas definitely made up for much of the disappointment we had with our room. I can recommend this resort for those things. Just have realistic expectations about your room. The staff was friendly and accommodating from the doorman who met our car to the wait staff in the restaurant. A good stop for us for sure.

Room Tip: Perhaps the main building has the renovated rooms which we were told about. I'd ask for the newe...
