Decided to visit some of the attractions in our great state that we had never seen. Although we live in Colorado we are over an hour from Colorado Springs so we booked 2 nights at The Academy Hotel on the recommendation of a friend. She was spot on with her suggestion. While the rooms aren't anything special (don't get me wrong, they're clean and spacious but average as far as linens, furnishings, etc.), the lobby is open and inviting with a beautiful fireplace and comfy seating, hotel restaurant, pool (open 24/7 for adults), Wii game station, and complimentary brownies/cookies and coffee at the check-in desk which our kiddos just loved. The breakfast buffet was top notch and Patrick does an amazing job at the omelette bar. The entire staff is beyond friendly and willing to help. We visited several places including Cave of the Winds, Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek, etc. but the place our kids kept asking to go back to was the hotel.

Room Tip: The pool is open 24/7 so consider noise and chlorine smell when booking your room.

We stayed here the night we arrived from New York. We were tired from being on the road and would've been happy anywhere....but just a lucky choice online we ended up here! The lobby is gorgeous, very tastefully decorated for Christmas. The pool is in the lobby and open 24/7 as is the gym. They are very friendly and especially helpful. The restaurant was good, not great; but overall this was an excellent experience. Rooms are standard nothing to get excited about.

While on the way from the Denver airport to the Colorado Springs area my friend remembered passing by this hotel months earlier. As luck would have it there was availability for the night. The cozy fireplace was ablaze which set the atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast buffet which was included in the nightly rate was WONDERFUL! This is not your typical buffet...the chef was on hand to make omelets and the buffet was extensive. If you are in area do yourself a favor an put this hotel on your list. It is in close proximity to the Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak.

My work takes me out of state 2-3 times a year. Recently we did some tile work at the new Bonnaventure Assisted Living Facility in Colorado Springs. We stayed at The Academy Hotel for 8 nights. First thing you will notice is the large open lobby with dining area, indoor pool, and large sunken fire place with plenty of couches for sitting. There is also a arcade for kids and a Sports Bar with pool tables and dart board. They offer a great buffet for breakfast complete with everything from oatmeal to cooked to order eggs (all free with stay). We were given a large room with 2 beds and a roll-a-way bed (not a cot) which they kicked in for no charge. Room had small refrigerator and micro wave oven and coffee maker. Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly. Price was unbelievably cheap.

Room Tip: Rooms facing inner courtyard was very quiet

We stayed two nights at this hotel, conveniently located off of I-25 in north end of the Springs. We found the room to be extra large, clean and comfortable. They provided a complementary breakfast with the most comprehensive selection of any hotel that we have ever frequented except perhaps a 5 star all-inclusive resort. Patrick would prepare your eggs any way you requested and he was very accommodating! That is the most impressive aspect about this hotel. . . their genuinely friendly and helpful staff!

The Academy Hotel is located on the north of Colorado Springs near the I-25. The hotel is big, confortable and clean. Is not a new hotel. It was buildt in the 1980's and was renewed in the 2000. The lobby is very big with the restorant, business center, a fireplace with sofas and a pool. Due to the pool sometimes the lobby is a bit noisy but is ok. People in the front desk, people always have a smile for you and want to help you if you need. I was in a business trip and my room was very good just for me. Big bathroom, big bed (king size), a sofa, desk and chair and a big TV with cable. The hotel is very well located to access from the Academy Ave or from the intersate 25.

Stayed here for a couple nights after taking advantage of their Thanksgiving buffet. personnel was very well trained and very personable. The room was very modern and very clean with a nice memory foam mattress. Each time I stay here they get better and continue to impress with their quality
