Our first stop on our way was to Colorado Springs. The Academy Hotel was great. The beds were just ok but the room was very spacious and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding and the lobby area with a firepit.....SO GREAT! We loved the personality of the "omelet" man. Good times!!

Room Tip: if you have a hard time going up steps....the parking lot on the back side included steps.

This is a gem; the room in the tower area was really clean and appeared newly renovated. The lobby is 'living room' friendly with seating areas around a big fireplace; half price Happy Hour drinks and foods and open and pretty with tall trees and lots of plants around. The dining area for breakfast is in the opposite end of the lobby but flows well to sufficient table seating. Patrick will cook your morning eggs to your order! The pool is in this same huge open lobby and during a weekend is full of young kids which also means screams and yelling during breakfast and dinner times but this posed no issue for me. Only one day did the room not get serviced out of the 5 but overall very responsive! It was also beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Room Tip: I would recommend the tower since you are further from the pool activities. The SPA was broken while I was here.

Decided to visit some of the attractions in our great state that we had never seen. Although we live in Colorado we are over an hour from Colorado Springs so we booked 2 nights at The Academy Hotel on the recommendation of a friend. She was spot on with her suggestion. While the rooms aren't anything special (don't get me wrong, they're clean and spacious but average as far as linens, furnishings, etc.), the lobby is open and inviting with a beautiful fireplace and comfy seating, hotel restaurant, pool (open 24/7 for adults), Wii game station, and complimentary brownies/cookies and coffee at the check-in desk which our kiddos just loved. The breakfast buffet was top notch and Patrick does an amazing job at the omelette bar. The entire staff is beyond friendly and willing to help. We visited several places including Cave of the Winds, Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek, etc. but the place our kids kept asking to go back to was the hotel.

Room Tip: The pool is open 24/7 so consider noise and chlorine smell when booking your room.

We stayed here the night we arrived from New York. We were tired from being on the road and would've been happy anywhere....but just a lucky choice online we ended up here! The lobby is gorgeous, very tastefully decorated for Christmas. The pool is in the lobby and open 24/7 as is the gym. They are very friendly and especially helpful. The restaurant was good, not great; but overall this was an excellent experience. Rooms are standard nothing to get excited about.

While on the way from the Denver airport to the Colorado Springs area my friend remembered passing by this hotel months earlier. As luck would have it there was availability for the night. The cozy fireplace was ablaze which set the atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast buffet which was included in the nightly rate was WONDERFUL! This is not your typical buffet...the chef was on hand to make omelets and the buffet was extensive. If you are in area do yourself a favor an put this hotel on your list. It is in close proximity to the Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak.
