My husband and I had dinner without the kids at CB on Friday night and since we didn't have reservations we had a short wait. The guitarist in the lounge was terrific and the basil/cucumber martini was wonderful. We curled up in the comfy leather stuffed chairs and the time passed quickly. Our waiter, Paul, was very friendly, explained the specials and knew the menu. My husband really enjoyed his lamb. My pasta dish was good but the shrimp were just ok, they seemed to lack a char or grill, just barely cooked We made a reservation for the following night and took our two teenage boys who were very hungry. The place was packed and Wendy, the manager and hostess remained friendly, even though she had to help clear and set tables and help deliver food. She was in a constant state of motion. We had a long wait for our meal but the food was delicious. I had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, every bite was great. One boy had steak tidbits with Mac and cheese and he cleaned his plate. The other two had the flat iron steak and they love their steak rare but sometimes chefs don't get it right. The CB chefs cooked their steaks perfectly, charred on the outside, rare on the inside. Be sure and order the souffle when your dinner is served because they take 15 minutes. Our servers did not tell us about it but thanks to Trip Advisor we knew to order and we loved the Grand Manier/Pistacio Souffle. It was delicious. The only disappointment were the calamari, they were very small, although flavorful. Maybe we just got the bottom of the bag Wendy was kind enough to comp our drinks because we had to wait longer than usual for our meals. That is a sign of excellent management. We have no hesitation recommending CB Grille and we would go back for a third meal if were staying longer. Make a reservation. It helps the management properly plan for staffing and ensure swift seating.
