Not a great stay at this hotel, as it is in desperate need of a refit.

Negatives
- First room smelt if cigarette smoke and in very bad state, so needed to change rooms
- No clock in the room
- Two lamps didn't work
- Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work
- Heated towel radiator not turned on and very difficult to find how to turn this on
- Tiles missing in bathroom
- Grouting in bathroom black
- Could only open one window after a lot of worse and the other wouldn't open
- No child locks on windows so could easily fall out if travelling with small child
- Paint on the walls patchy and needing repaint
- Two single beds put together and very dipped in the mattress
- General condition of room poor with need of refitting, with only reasonable cleanliness
- could not get the wifi as poor signal
- fuzzy picture on tv
- spot light in bathroom not working

Positives
- nice setting and surrounding area
- didn't undertake leisure activities but there seemed to be a lot on offer
- excellent breakfast
- ample parking
- quiet night

I am sorry to read that you encountered so many faults with your room, My team would happily move a guest from a room should there be any issues. I have passed this feedback to my team to help try and locate where at the venue it is located?

We spent 2 nights here, at a lovely wedding, great wedding food etc. But the hotel side, the room management was chaotic. We paid 5 months before but were told on arrival they had no room for us and no record of payment. After much argument and production of our bank statement they agreed to find us a room. On leaving we went through the same argument ... we hadn't paid etc etc. We weren't the only ones in the wedding party in difficulty. The whole thing was handled in an accusative manner by staff who were clearly crisis managing.Everything carried on in front of a waiting queue.. never again! The room maintenance was poor (sash windows broken, lightbulbs missing, top floor poor water pressure etc etc).

Just had two nights at this exclusive, expensive, Spa/golf-club location situated in rolling greenery next to BMWs UK training centre.
It looked ideal, on paper, so the disappointment was great.
Room 209 is one to avoid.
In essence, I take issue with an organisation that neglects fundamentals. In our room the safe was broken, the receptionist had no idea how we could mend it and so I carried a large amount of cash with me all day.
The bedroom walls were smeared with the blood of squished insects OR SIMILAR (at eye level when laying down in bed-charming), the bathroom door had clearly once had hooks for bathrobes etc (these are now missing and all one sees are ugly broken holes) and the mould was everywhere (see pictures)
The swimming pool was dangerously over-crowded, and yet the pool attendant spent the entire time on her mobile phone texts or emails and the changing rooms and toilets were nothing short of disgusting.
As a vegetarian family we were delighted to learn that veggie sausages were available at breakfast...sadly from time of order to receipt of sausages took 27 minutes and we'd finished breakfast by then
A little proactive tlc would go a long way, but nobody seemed to give a damn when issues were raised and I shall never take my family to one of the De Vere places again.

Room Tip: Avoid the grime of 209 - others may display similar traits!

My partner stays here quite frequently while working away & on this occasion i was able to join him . On entering i really liked the idea of The street , everything sign posted clearly and free drinks facilities along with free wifi .
Our room was nice however we did have to turn the radiator off on us entering . The bed was so comfy and the bathroom was lovely , and all cleaned to a very high standard .

The bar is nice and the food is ok , the hotel certainly was quite busy from golfers, buisness useres and families .

Would stay here again .

We came to this hotel on a Sunday Monday night on a cheap deal which didn't include any meals. We used the swimming pool ,gym and driving range. The gym was small but the machines are well kept and the gym is clean. The pool was clean and a good temperature though the Jacuzzi was broken which was a shame. The changing rooms were clean but no suitable lockable lockers so lots of people were taking there bags etc. into the gym which could become messy and unsafe. The driving range was fine but the short game area was a bit shabby. The rooms were a good size with a smart new bathroom and clean, however the bed was in a bad state , one mattress was sprung the other dipping dreadfully in the middle. The corridors were often cluttered with big trolleys .The gardens were kept well but rubbish was seen in lots of places. We knew we were on a cheap deal so were prepared to accept the hotel as it was. The staff on reception were very helpful.

First off, the check in lady (didn't catch her name) was rude and confused us by telling us our rooms were not pre-paid despite us believing (and being told on the confirmation email) the payment was taken at time of booking. Despite my friend paying for an upgrade, she was given the same room as me and paid extra for this.

We stayed in the Wellington Lodge, which is the nearer part of the building - the rooms were fine, nice and clean with a great walk in shower.

We went to the bar for some drinks and food, despite there being only one other table waiting for food, the service was slow, the quality of the food was poor - I would save your money and go to a pub nearby (The Bells Inn).

4 of us were booked in for a spa package, the therapists appeared to be untrained and unqualified (or at least very newly qualified). They ruined my eyebrows and cut my facial short because of this - wouldn't bother!

So I guess it's a BMW training centre by the stuff all over the place? Hotels pleasant, but paints flaking, carpets old & stained, and please put a sign SOMEWHERE showing where the actual hotel bit is! (Executive suite) hate golf so can't comment on that bit, drinks are extortionate, food was basic, but tasted better than I expected, (had chilli for 8 quid) or 1.7 drinks!! Would stay again, but only here as cheapest decent place on booking.com
