“More fun than leaglly allowed”

We come every year. This year was particularly fun. We were able to see three comedies in two days. Is he dead is about a group of starving painters in 1890s Paris planing to fake the death of one of their own to up the value of his paintings. It was done in a farce style.

Harry the great is about battling magicians during the 1893 Pan American Expo also preformed in a farce style.

Mrs. Manners is about an aging manners teacher and her student with an agenda. Very funny and dramatic also.

They have eight shows and several childrens programs in the morning.

“This theatre is known all over for the quality of their performances. Our show was great!”
Reviewed 10 August 2012

We went to see The Drowsy Chaperone Sunday matinee. It was so well done for a small, nostalgic theatre. There are about 4 different shows to choose from. The artwork displayed in the lobby are very good. The actors come out to the main street following the show so go shake their hands!

“Curtain Up....Thumbs Up”
Reviewed 24 July 2012

Three wonderful shows in less than a week. There aren't many places you can do that, let alone for less than $80. Add in that many of CRT's performances are family friendly, the actors accessible--don't miss the chance to shake their hands after the show--and that there's not a bad seat in the house and you have a recipe for a memorable theatre experience. The glorious mountain setting is almost an afterthought. My family really enjoyed The Drowsy Chaperone. The humor, staging and characterizations struck the funny bones of the entire group, despite the fact our ages ranged from 13 to 70+. The improvisational stylings of Boomtown lived up to the PG-13 rating, but didn't cross over to the crass...a real challenge for any actor working unscripted. Mark Twain's Is He Dead? was just as much fun. I also enjoyed the chat back the next morning where over breakfast a small group discussed lots of the aspects of the play. The discussion was lead by CRT's business manager assisted by the costume director. Run, don't walk to the ticket counter and get seats to the next available show. You won't be disappointed!

“a surprise in the mountains”
Reviewed 17 July 2012

Every time I go I wonder how such a great thing as the Creede Rep got started--someone once told me it was like aummer camp for the SMU drama department-not sure about that but the plays sure are entertaining

Sarah W, Public Relations Manager at Creede Repertory Theatre, responded to this review, 25 July 2012
CRT was founded by students from the University of Kansas in 1966. Though no official partnership with KU ever existed, the relationship between the Kansas acting community and CRT has spanned several decades.
