Description: django's is a locally owned restaurant in Crested Butte, with a seasonal menu of globally inspired small plates. This culinary adventure offers a fun dining experience best shared with friends: the plates are brought one at a time, for everyone to taste more than 20 different selections on the weekly menu. The wines are served by quartino (250ml) carafe, to allow for pairing and sampling across an extensive list focused on European and South American wines. The interior is elegant yet casual, offering seating in low banquettes, high tables, or on the balcony overlooking the bar. If you prefer dining outdoors, grab a table on the front patio, where you can see and be seen on Elk Avenue.

“So good and so much fun, we made a reservation at the bar...”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

With Tony behind the bar, a master social director and food advisor, we had so much fun and like the food so much that we decided to forgo reservations for a table and made them for the bar instead. Wonderful tapas and great wine selections, and the at-bar crowd were so entertaining. We are returning this January for more of the fabulous same.

“Inventive servings to share”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

This is a very good, quite unusual restaurant located in the middle of the mountain village, reached from town by a free, every-20-minute shuttle bus (the Mountaineer Square bus stop is just steps away from the restaurant). Django’s has an eclectic, dark interior, with some floor-to-ceiling translucent drapes, as well as outdoor seating. The menu is sprinkled with items ranging from modest appetizer or tapas portions to small-entrée sized offerings. All dishes are served one-at-a-time, strongly encouraging sharing. (This is not really the restaurant for the single diner.) So the two of us managed to share macrona almonds, thinly sliced and cooked watermelon radishes, olives, crispy Brussels sprouts, trumpet mushrooms, halibut in corn puree, quail, and duck breast in cherry sauce, along with our drinks. The preparations were generally inventive and tasty. The service was attentive and friendly, both by our waitress and by the host. We wondered why the restaurant seemed so empty at 7 pm on a Saturday night…but it soon filled to overflowing. Apparently its style and ambience attracts a late-night crowd. Django’s is fairly expensive, but it is probably the best value for a casual, fine dining experience in Crested Butte.

“Fabulous food, great ambience”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

There is little better than the mushroom risotto at Django's. The food really was extraordinary. we ordered five dishes including desert which was the perfect amount of food for two. The waitress was wonderful and the maitre'd was charming and everyone was helpful. The only reason I am not giving it a five is because not all the dishes were as wonderful as the mushroom risotto and the chocolate dessert. The sauce for the polenta artichokes was weak but the polenta artichokes were wonderful. The signature dish the crispy brussel sprouts was much better than ok but....The menu is seasonal so you never know what you will get to try and trying Django's is well worth it.

“Don't miss it”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We found Django's in the base area and now visit every time we go to Crested Butte. Everything is prepared to perfection. Great flavors and presentations. What a great ending to active days. Healthy food and great wine. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a great restaurant nearby.

“Annual trip to Crested Butte”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

This is my second trip to Crested Butte and one of the highlights is eating at Django's. It is a "must do". The food is excellent and the wine amazing. I appreciate having skilled, knowledgeable staff help to select an appropriate wine based on what I plan to eat. Looking forward to coming back next year.
