“Great meal; don't miss this restaurant!”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Visited good friends in Crested Butte. We reserved for the first seating (6 PM). Delightful atmosphere, great and memorable food. I had the lamb chops, which were tender, flavorful, but too much food to eat. Wine was reasonable, and excellent. Atmosphere was perfect for this small town. Crested Butte is lucky to have this restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Food was delicious wine was excellent service was excellent we enjoyed our dinner immensely. Fillet mignon was very tender and flavorful, my wife had the scallops on risotto which was also delicious. Pricey but worth it.

“Superb food and service!”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

We asked some locals about the best restaurants in Crested Butte. Soupçon was recommended. The food and service were impeccable. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and my friend's halibut was so flavorful and perfectly done. The building is very old and cabin-like and that added to the interesting ambience. Our friendly efficient server said she had been there since 1977...that is saying something! Our only regret was that we did not have room for dessert!

“Easily the best in the state”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

We've eaten at the Broadmoor and other fine restaurants in Colorado many times. None of them can beat what we experienced tonight at Soupcon. The restaurant is in a tiny building in an alley. But once you enter the door it becomes heavenly. Even the pure white tablecloths have a very high thread count--and they're not covered with glass or plastic. This is how a fine restaurant is supposed to be!! I could go through the details of the meal but it's not necessary. It's sufficient to say everything was unbelievable and fantastic. I tried a glass each of a Cabernet and a Merlot and both were top notch. Mike was our waiter and, even though he's a skier, he's also a truly professional waiter who knows intimately just how his job should be done. He greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the evening. So, without boring the reader with too many details I'll just say--make sure you get a reservation well in advance, particularly if you come during the skiing season. And do go to the trouble. I agree it's not cheap but, for once at least, you'll go away thinking it was money well spent.

“Outstanding all around”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

A great all around experience. It is located off the beaten path in a quaint little house that looks to be turn of the century. The experience was outstanding from start to finish including the acceptance of our Crested Butte casual look (jeans). The chef welcomed us and provided a great starter and the very professional waitstaff took over from there. The onion bisque and filet were the best I had ever had. The wine selection was extensive and very diverse. The prices are not for the faint of heart but they are well worth the overall experience since this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I look forward to making this a regular stop every time we visit CB.
