Crested Butte in the summer is a beautiful place. The Elevation Hotel and Spa is at the base of the mountain, walking distance to hiking, biking, and shopping. The spa is fantastic! Can't say enough!!

My dad and I stayed here in mid-October. It was off-season so we got a great deal on a luxurious room. The staff was super friendly and the hotel was great. It's worth noting that this is in Mt. Crested Butte - which is just north of the town of Crested Butte. We were driving around the town trying to find the hotel until we called and they explained the difference. I would have loved to stay downtown so I was a bit disappointed to learn that we were a 3 miles north.

We went to breakfast the next morning and since it was their last day before they closed, it was somewhat chaotic and incredibly slow. The staff were still super friendly, but it threw off our schedule for the day and we almost missed our next activity.

I booked on Expedia and the room rate was quite reasonable for the caliber of hotel this is. As I am an Expedia Elite member, our room was upgraded to one with a mountain view. Spectacular view! The only down-side I can think of is that the hotel is nearly impossible to find in the dark.
We arrived in the early evening and the front desk had to talk us in by cell phone. Also, there is a $15 per night parking fee, with really no parking alternative.

Room Tip: The food in the bar at night was excellent with adequate portions if you don't want a full-blown...

From the moment we drove up to the front door, the staff let us know we were in good hands as first time visitors. The parking valets were very pleasant and helpful. The front desk staff smiled and welcomed us promptly. We appreciated the information about the local activities, the shuttle bus, and the free wine reception by the fireplace. That was a popular activity with a very friendly wine server, but the line quickly grew long and a second server would have been nice. The room was exceptionally clean with a good view of the sun setting over the mountains. We were glad to see the nice glassware and coffee mugs. The only disappointment was that the coffee maker in the room didn't work, but there was coffee in the lobby. In the morning, the valets again were very friendly and prompt, but there was a lot of congestion with cars coming and going, and it would have been good to have someone out directing traffic with so many cars trying to get out and in that small space. We will put The Elevation high on our list of places to stay the next time we visit scenic Crested Butte.

We had a terrible experience with a vacation rental in town, and it was bike week, so not many options for moving. We had spent one night at the Elevation earlier in our trip, so I called to see what they could do - from their lobby. The woman on the phone was amazing, and worked a bunch of discounts since I would be staying for 11 nights and she seemed to truly care about my sob story. In minutes we were in a plush room with a convection/microwave, fridge, spectacular bed, clean modern bathroom and more. But, we didn't like the noise of the activity slopeside that week (just us, we like quiet), so they cheerfully moved us. Not to mention that they were CRAZY busy that day, and still accomodated our high maintenance needs. We spent a blissful 11 days there. The housekeeping staff was on top of things, we did laundry in the quiet guest laundry with the free soap provided, stored our bikes in free bike storage, and ran down the hill into town every day. It is a short distance to the town, but with the beautiful pathway into town and the free shuttle, it made no difference to be in Mt. Crested Butte vs. right down in town (which was a concern of mine initially). Also, there is a Camp4Coffee right next to the hotel, so life is good. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Slopeside could be a bit noisy - bands, etc. play out behind the hotel during summer.

Having never been to Crested Butte, we found a excellent deal on Groupon for Elevation and decided to take a weekend trip to view the fall colors. Crested Butte is a wonderful little town and the colors did not disappoint. The drive over Cottonwood pass from Denver was worth the 4 hour drive. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a professional valet who offered to help with our luggage.

Emily was at the front desk when I checked in. She was professional and extremely knowledgeable about the property and the town. She explained all the amenities of the hotel and was a pleasure to deal with. The property is large and very well kept and very clean. You would never guess that pets were allowed on the property. The rooms were large, decorated nicely and most importantly very clean. You can tell the cleaning staff is well trained and actually cares about the job they do. Seems like most rooms also have a good size patio, small kitchen area with a microwave and refrigerator, along with utensils and dishes.Bathrooms were clean and the shower had great water pressure and an excellent shower head. Each room also had a flat screen TV with at least 50 channels. Bed was very comfortable with clean sheets and a down comforter. Plenty of pillows (6) and plenty of storage for your clothes. A small seating area with a couch and coffee table as well as a decent work area rounded out our standard King room. The one complaint I have is that they do not have Air Conditioning in the rooms. We had to keep our sliding glass door open at night to cool the room down to sleep. Even in October with the temperature outside in the 30's at night, the room was too warm to comfortably sleep, at least to us.

Every night the hotel offers a 1 hr wine social by the fireplace in the main lobby. Decent wine served by knowledgeable bar tenders who go out of their way to make sure your wine glass is full and you are having a good time. It is a great place to hang out and meet your fellow guests.

There is also a pool and hot tub as well as spa services that we did no take advantage of.

We ate dinner at the 9380 restaurant located in the hotel the first night of our stay. Food was very good but a bit pricey. Drinks were well made and the staff was very friendly.

We had breakfast our last morning at 9380 as well. Again, good food, friendly staff.

The front desk staff was just excellent. Always saying hello and asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay more comfortable. Emily gave us some great recommendations of places to eat in town, took her time explaining how the free shuttle service worked, were to pick it up, what time, etc. Sherri always had a treat for our dogs, loved to pet them and play with them. Upon check out we had a small problem with our bill and Sherri immediately fixed the problem, made up for it with free parking and sincerely apologized for the error which was not a big deal to begin with.

Crested Butte itself is a wonderful town to visit. While we visited off-season, with no huge crowds, it was a fun place to be. People are friendly and the views around town are awesome. When you visit, be sure to take a ride over Kebler pass. It is incredible. Be sure to visit Lost Lake and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the ride and the views.

Overall, I highly recommend Elevation Hotel & Spa, especially if you have pets. The rooms are nice, if not too warm, the staff is excellent and the hotel is very clean and modern. This was our first trip to Crested Butte, but in no small part due to the Elevation Hotel and Spa, this will not be our last trip to Crested Butte.

Room Tip: Rooms on the slope side have better views. Try to stay away from rooms with a view of the roof.

After 3 nights of camping in Colorado wilderness we needed some TLC and Elevation provided just that. The resort is beautiful and is located at the foot of the mountain. Just outside the door is the lift! Although we did not stay here during ski season, it was a great stay. The room was super large with kitchenette, utensils, dishes, and glassware. It also had an oversized portable fridge and combo microwave and convection oven. The bed was very comfortable, they provide evening turn-down service and a free wine social in the evening. The staff was courteous, very friendly and very informative about activities around town. Since it was off season, we got a spectacular deal of a little over $100/night...chaching!!
